View Full Version : The stupidest thing I've seen in sports is this call from softball world series

The umpire (or whomever) is looking at the replay to see if the HR hitter touched home plate and if she was assisted by teammates (whatever that means). Umpire then comes back and says the call on the field stands "and the runner did NOT touch home plate and WAS assisted but the play isn't reviewable by rule, the HR stands.
That's fvcking dumb

I thought OP was being hyperbolic, but that just might be the dumbest thing I've seen in sports too :lol How a teammate touching the runner before they cross home plate on a home run matters at all is beyond me. But then to review the play and claim the play isn't reviewable is just fvcking stupid lol
I feel like the people in charge of sports make things far more complicated than they need to. What is the point of having that shitshow transpire at the end of a game.

Pretty silly. What's the point of even looking at the replay if its not reviewable? Were they looking at something else?

Then the umpire shouldn't say the latter parts then? :confusedshrug:

I guess it is a rare incident that they have to look further into the rule book.

Hey Yo beat BurningAxeHammer to this thread, who more than likely watched it live.
I say, the team that gave up the home run shouldn't protest too much, because you don't want to win on a technicality.
You feel me?
