Any evidence for Jordan petioning the NBA to make rule changes due to Pistons?

Been scouring the Internet can't find anything, it's a pretty pervasive notion amongst MJ detractors, as far as I can tell the only source for it Isiah Thomas.

Is there ANY evidence to substantiate this claim?
