View Full Version : Lebron's fans would say he's the Goat even if he had 0 Championships

Lebron's fans don't really have any standards. If it's not rings, they'll find something else. It used to be triple doubles. Then Westbrook and Jokic passed him very easily. But then the excuse is Lebron has more rings. But they realize Lebron will never get 6 rings and so they have to use the longevity route.
I swear even if Lebron was 0 and 10 in the Finals, it doesn't matter. His fans would find a way to make an excuse. Lebron could have played with 4 all stars every year, still lost, and his fans would say he's still the GOAT.
3 and 6 in the Finals is already bad enough, while playing with 7 all stars I may add. That's pretty bad. Can't get much worse with all that help. Some of you should stop listening to the paid media and use your brains. Deep down you know Lebron James sucks.
So yea, Lebum does deserve to keep getting called out. He never earned diddly squat. 3 and 6. Get out of here.

Can't we just admit that Lebron's career has been an overhyped failure? I ate out Highwhey's mom. I've had better.

Yeah, it's funny how a couple years ago, all of a sudden the criteria for GOAT became total career points - an interesting stat, but virtually meaningless in rankings. Bronie fluffers act like 10 scoring titles to 1 scoring title is less meaningful in ranking than total points. :lol
It's called desperation, because 22 years into his career they really have nothing else.

It used to be about Lebron's advanced stats, but then Curry, Jokic & SGA came through with equally or more impressive RS numbers and it became about longevity (total points and total playoff games played etc). They cared a lot about stuff like PER and RAPM but we already got a new GOAT in those categories.

Rapm and per are still very pro Lebron. If you look at playoff rapm and per 3 players basically stand alone: Jordan, LeBron and Jokic, it’s not a coincidence- those are the best peaks we’ve seen since advanced stats have been being kept.

Jokic has better stats than LeBron in many ways.

Sure, but the discourse in these advanced stats had reduced by a significant margin after others started matching or besting his #s.

Umm, not exactly. Pretty much the way shit went was on introduction most advanced stats pointed at Mj being far and away ahead of everyone. Every few years wed get a new advanced metric to crunch numbers and compare greats with, usually with Mj untouched up top. Lebron came along and matched, and in some cases surpassed Mjs foothold. Thats when the stats started being frowned upon and it didn't help that Kobe wasn't ever painted well by the numbers either. Also got to remember these metrics were introduced to us by the media whether through television or print, its not their narrative anymore either. I think they dont have such a focus anymore because Lebrons prime was some time ago and those numbers arent as relevant in the last leg of a career. Its kind of weird its not being used to prop up Jokers career more but in the numerball era nobody wants to see the numbers anymore. Its not just Lebron fans its everyone lol.

People should be aware that if the Heat had beaten the Mavs in 2011 to get Lebron his 1st ring, it would've been considered an asterisk ring - no one would've respected it... The only reason that people forgot his unprecedented deck-stacking and started to respect his rings is because his historic chokes in 10' or 11' and continued futility made him into a sympathetic underdog... So people forgot that he stacked the deck by teaming up with "Kobe-Pau II", while hand-picking the preseason favorite and having the only super-team in the league.

Just speaking from what I've seen on ISH. Once Curry, Giannis, Jokic & SGA came along it seems like posters here didn't care about the advanced metrics as much. Of course a lot of the advanced metrics have gone mainstream but also the stats are not always accurate in terms of measuring a player's true impact on the game.
You can't quantify the impact that Steph has on his teams, even when he has a bad game the defense that's played against him still benefits his teammates the same way, same with Kobe or any other elite offensive player that demands double teams.

If Kobe draws a double on a 12 footer, that’s going to result in a short rebound(as opposed to long rebounds from 3 pt spamming today that generate more guard rebounds than ever before) and if the help he forces is from Pau or Odom’s man, then they have a great chance at a short rebound putback. I don’t think Odom and Pau having career high orpg playing with Kobe were coincidence. But back to my point, even though that possession looks ugly for Kobe’s fg%, it will show up in offensive +/- and on/off orating.

Well I'll tell you from being part of these conversations for even longer....Mj fans were in love with PER until Lebron started kicking the door in. And thats the exact argument than ran opposite of Lebron then "we'll you.cant tell everything from stats!!" "Eye test!!" etc. And it's true all these things require a bit of context. Someone will come rant to you about offensive rating or plus/minus and have no clue how its actually calculated. Then another will tell you eye test and is absolute shit at deciphering what they are seeing on the floor. Some numbers corroborate what we see on the floor and some dont. But I think when a guy has both eye test and numbers you just gotta shut up and take the L lol.

Not at Kobe's best. Lebron never had the 50 point games, 60 point games or an 81 point game.

And at Kobes best you wanna tell me how many for fga he needed to take? Its cool to talk about big scoring numbers but nobody wants to talk about how the sausage is made lol.
