Houston
Denver
Atlanta
Orlando
are the teams I think improved the most. Orlando gave up a lot of picks to do it, so how it balances in the long run is to be determined. But just in terms of having a better team now than last year, theyre on the list after adding Bane and Tyus Jones.

Nice additions. I like what Atlanta has brewing down there. Of course, the questions mark is Porzingis' health.

Much deeper, that's for sure.
If the matchups permit it they should run Jokic and Valacunius together sometimes. Similar to what the Rockets did with Adams+Sengun, but Valacunias can hit threes though. Definitely gives them more flexibility.

Denver got a little better assuming Cam Johnson stays healthy (which MPJ could not do).

A couple of teams really improved their positions with single, under the radar, signings.
1. Spurs - Luke Kornet. How the rest of the league let Kornet go to Spurs, I don't know. This dude is a really good, tough throw-back center with craftiness on both sides of the ball. Great compliment to Wemby.
2. Clippers - Brook Lopez. Finally, a back-up to Zubac. And another scorer, too.

Houston and Denver are both going to be even better.
Spurs and Lakers both got great additions too.

A lot better. They'll be able to hold leads with Jokic on the bench. Feels like this should be a 60-win Denver team if healthy.

Should have kept WB imo, his value as a min contract is actually pretty good. You just don't want him to be in any kind of 8 man rotation come playoff time.

Very good stuff.
Getting rid of Westbrook is the best move of this Free Agency by any team.

Disagree, even if he was playing for free his impact at times makes them worse as a team. He was horrific in the OKC series.

Denver has had the best off-season realistically possible. All three guys they lost are addition-by -subtraction scenarios at this point in their careers. Cam Johnson replicates some of what MPJ does as a floor spacer, with better D and athleticism. Bruce Brown is proven to be able to play with Jokic. Big V is their first competent backup 5 in a while, so they shouldn't die so badly in the minutes Jokic sits. Hardaway is going to absolutely eat off ball playing with Jokic. Hardaway will also be able to fill some non-jokic minutes with gunslinging, which will keep him happy. Valanciunias will pair nicely with him as an offensive rebounder.
A lot better. They'll be able to hold leads with Jokic on the bench. Feels like this should be a 60-win Denver team if healthy.

Charlotte actually did a decent job bringing in some hungry vets to balance out the immaturity on that team.

Back to the drawing board
Marc Stein: The agreed-to trade between Denver and Sacramento to swap Dario Saric for Jonas Valanciunas cannot be made official until Sunday. The Kings still need the trade to go through for salary cap reasons, but the Nuggets’ ability to convince Valanciunas to stay in the NBA is TBD. – via x.com

Big Val is for sure a huge signing. Very similar in type on offense scoring and defensive/rebound to Jokic. Not a great defender, but solid.
Bruce Brown comes back. Cam Johnson (who?), THJ can be valuable off the bench and is a great catch and shoot guy, will get many open looks.
Denver is now significantly better.

Jake Fischer: Another update on Jonas Valanciunas: Discussions are fluid between the veteran center and Denver, sources say, while he’s received a lucrative offer from Panathinaikos in Greece. I’m told, though, that any outcome here won’t impact the trade between Sacramento and Denver. – via x.com

Valanciunas was initially pleased with the trade to Denver, seeing it as a chance to contribute to a championship contender’s rotation. Per Marc Stein, the trade between the Kings and Nuggets can’t be made officially until Sunday. For Sacramento, it’s crucial that the trade goes through for salary cap purposes. However, the offer from Panathinaikos presented a different kind of opportunity — long-term stability, a major role, and a team built to contend for the EuroLeague title. – via BasketNews

Marc Stein: Jonas Valančiūnas is traveling to Greece per numerous reports and hopes to be released from his NBA contract after Denver acquires him Sunday from Sacramento to join Panathinaikos. The Nuggets’ consolation: They would gain access to their full MLE. – via x.com

What bigs are left?
Yossi Gozlan: As Bobby pointed out, the Nuggets could combine the Cameron Johnson and Jonas Valanciunas trades to avoid a first apron hard cap. This would allow them to go above it and use the $5.7 million tax mid-level exception on another big man, should Valanciunas seek a buyout. – via x.com

Min contracts aren’t supposed to get playing time in the playoffs in the first place. The fact that WB was a part of their 8 man rotation just shows how shorthanded they were.

Marc Stein: The Nuggets are going ahead with their trade for Jonas Valančiūnas on Sunday and remain determined to keep the veteran big man they hope to install as their backup to Nikola Jokić … despite Valančiūnas’ offer from Greek giants Panathinaikos, league sources tell @TheSteinLine . – via x.com

I really hope he ends up staying. The three big rotation of Jokic, Gordon and JV can make them a dominant team next year, especially with the other moves theyve made. It not only buys Jokic a few extra minutes of rest each game, which should benefit his fourth quarter shooting and defense, but it also keeps a big in the dunker spot when GORDON is off the floor, maximizing Jokic's effectiveness through the whole game. Setting the stage, potentially, for *another* statistical jump :lol
Also keen to see what I think will be the first twin tower duo with three point range. Experiments with dual seven footers last year looked pretty good. Sengun and Adams, Towns and Robinson, Holmgren and Hartenstein. Briefly AD and Gafford/Lively. I expressed surprise Doug Christie wasnt trying it with Sabonis (not quite a seven footer) and JV, and I remember Xiao laughed at the suggestion and insisted twin towers only works when Toody is involved (I'm not kidding). But looking at those pairs, all of them include a player without three point range. A trend likely to continue when Wemby and Kornet play some minutes together this year. Some guys (Adams, Robinson, Gafford) are also free throw liabilities.
Jokic/JV I think is the only pair of seven footers who are both comfortable shooting beyond the arc and shoot 80+% FT. Should be an interesting dynamic to see in action.

Jonas Valanciunas reportedly staying in Denver
The Jonas Valanciunas saga might have arrived at an ending point, with the Lithuanian center expected to stay with the Denver Nuggets despite the huge offer coming from Panathinaikos.
According to Marc Stein, the trade by the Denver Nuggets to acquire Jonas Valanciunas is on the course to be official later this week.
