View Full Version : Imagine getting gifted Doncic and suggesting you are owed more help

For the record I always thought Doncic was subpar on defense. But you guys are the ones that said this isn’t even fair for the league and that LeBron always needed a guy like Doncic that could back him up since he plays just like him.
And as always LeBron is not happy. He wasn’t happy with Davis even though you can make a case that Davis was better statistically and also defensively. And now you got Doncic. And this was supposed to be incredible help. Yet LeBron has the audacity to suggest that they could do better.
Remember it was LeBron that also wanted Westbrook and then used him as a scapegoat. I think lowkey we all knew LeBron would think Luca isn’t enough help. What does that say about your king?

it's AMAZING
they're even trying to send Jokic to the Lakers - AD and Luka aren't enough, so they literally want to see if Jokic or Giannis will be enough.. i've never seen a bigger fraud in my lifetime

Nobody's ever achieved less with more help than Lebron, AKA LeShrivel.
But after being the first player ever to lead a super team to the lottery in 2022, his underachieving in 2025 sure didn't surprise me.

I don't blame LeBron for this. It's the media's fault for trying to manufacture another Jordan. There's only 1 GOAT. It's the same reason why Mahomes is so polarizing, they are trying to do the same thing with manufacturing a new Brady.

Except Mahommes is worthy of the praise. His resume for his age is the best ever. And he passes the eye test more than Brady did.

You could say the"eye test" at one point showed Aaron Rodgers to be better than Brady. Lamar Jackson has some amazing performances that Brady couldn't duplicate, especially the running part. Amazing stretches and amazing seasons happen. But it is completely unfair to Mahomes and just about everyone else to compare him to Brady because any comparison to anyone with less than 5 Superbowl wins is just going to look silly. Mahomet has played in 8 seasons. Brady played in 10 superbowls. Coach Belichick has one playoff win without Tom Brady. Tom Brady won a Superbowl without Belichick and did it at an age where Jordan was retired, James will likely be retired and Mahomes will almost definitely be retired. In fact Brady won 2 superbowls past the age of 40. That means he wasn't just piling onto his longevity stats, no, he was still a great quarterback. Neither Jordan nor James led their teams anywhere at 40 and no disrespect but Mahomes won't either. No one does that but Brady. He's actually destroyed any kind of GOAT debate in the NFL. If Mahomes isn't retiring at 38 he may have done enough to make this a discussion but right now he's going to have to have at least another 10 years of all-time great football to enter the GOAT debate, which is currently Brady from 22 to 32 vs Brady from 33 to 44.

Your Rodgers and Lamar points are not good ones in this discussion for a couple key points.
1.Lamar has likely the worst reputation of any Super star qb in the league right now when it comes to HIS play in the post season. He also doesn't check the team success box. Zero Superbowl appearances let alone wins
2. Rodgers is not that good in the post season either. His level generally drops down a bit in the big games. He has one title, which doesn't satisfy the goat standard.
The eye test is just a part of it. If the other things don't match up it doesn't matter.
Mahommes is the unique case of he passes the eye test, has the accolades and he generally plays extremely well in the playoffs. His team has been the dynasty of his era, just like Brady. His playoff resume is excellent, even with a couple bad games.
You might think it's silly to compare them. The rest of the world does not. It's been a topic for the last couple seasons at least. And a worthy topic because they're both the best QBs of their era. The discussion was always going to take place. Just like it will for the next guy after Mahommes. And so on.... It's how this works.

Zero Superbowl appearances let alone wins So Super Bowl wins matter when it's Lamar Jackson being compared but we should ignore that Mahomes is 5 behind Brady because why?
2. Rodgers is not that good in the post season either. His level generally drops down a bit in the big games. He has one title, which doesn't satisfy the goat standard. Seven Superbowl wins is the GOAT standard. Mahomes doesn't satisfy it either.
The eye test is just a part of it. If the other things don't match up it doesn't matter.7 to 2 is matching up?

His playoff resume is excellent, even with a couple bad games.7 to 2 is the accolades? 2 SB wins is a dynasty after we saw Brady lead the Patriots to 6 (and then another without them)?
You might think it's silly to compare them. Only because it is.
The rest of the world does not. Iwonder if even you dispute who the greatest QB of all time is? This remains a joke.
It's been a topic for the last couple seasons at least. Just because First Take needs material to fill two hours doesn't mean thew a real argument to be made. And a worthy topic because they're both the best QBs of their era. The discussion was always going to take place. Just like it will for the next guy after Mahommes. And so on.... It's how this works.[/QUOTE] Tom Brady's "era" lasted over 20 years and included beating Mahomes in the Superbowl at the age of 43. The end.

Mahommes has 3. How do you not know that?
Anyways, Brady is the GOAT - for now. Mahommes has a lot of football left to play. I predict he's going to have the best combination of the team success, personal accolades/records and eye test and that will be the argument for those who pick him as the GOAT.
Brady camp will always cling to the 7 Superbowls.

My bad, he does have 3. So instead of crossing the Pacific Ocean he's only got to deal with the Atlantic. Yes we will clime to 7 downright... you know, the greatest statistic any quarterback has ever accumulated?
Superbowl Champion at 43. He's just not touchable.

Matt Ryan has an MVP. Cam Newton won MVP, hell a kicker won MVP back in the 80's I believe. Doesn't mean anything.
That's like saying Boomer Esiason was considered a better QB than Montana by some because he won MVP while Montana was in the league and in his prime.

You do realize that those letters stand for "Most Valuable Player, " right? There are absolutely a lot of people that vote that award to whoever they think is the best player. You are basing your argument on your own ignorance and backing it up by pointing out that you don't know any better.

So in your mind, Cam Newton was once considered better than Brady at one point. :oldlol: By MVP voters in that season he was. It's not a judgment on their whole careers, it's the opinion of any mvp voter that thinks the best quarterback for that season is the most valuable player. Try to keep up.

Some voters did think Rose was the best player in the league. Not sure why all of this is so hard for your to understand. In fact Jackson has won MVP twice. Guys don't win that award without impressing a lot of people. You not being able to understand something that's pretty basic doesn't mean it isn't true. Goodnight.

No, he was simply the best player on the best team in the regular season. How can you not understand something that's so basic? People who win MVP usually have the best team around them.
Nobody was calling Rose the best player in the NBA. :oldlol:
Now please go away. Just like you did in the political forum once Trump won.

Reverting a LeBron topic into NFL.
Doncic averaged 4 more points than Bron and had as many assists and rebounds and a far better plus minus.
Even Davis was averaging more points, higher percentage, more blocks and rebounds than LeBron. Far better defense.
And this guy is carrying his team? Not to mention he is a horrible teammate.

Imagine being a 40 plus year old billionaire and giving a shit what the public thinks????
I mean LeBron literally proves that being tall, athletic, and rich doesn’t mean shit.
Dude is so insecure he uses foundations, think tanks, ad firms, and entertainment agencies to peddle his cause.

Yup, I’m sure the kicker who won MVP in the 80s had people calling him the best player in the league, Same goes for Wes Unseld when he won MVP in his rookie year averaging a little over 10 ppg. Gtfo! :oldlol:

Honestly, people don't want to admit it, but it is Peyton Manning. Most MVP's and 1st team all pro selections for an NFL QB. Also changed the way the position. Without Peyton, there is no Brady, Brees, Rodgers etc.
