I thought they were on the same page...guess not. (https://clutchpoints.com/nba/brooklyn-nets/kyrie-irving-kevin-durant-blast-nets-failed-steve-nash-hire)

The lack of respect Irving showed (leaving for two weeks without notice for his sister's birthday) still makes no sense, but now makes some sense, if that makes any sense.

Seeing as Tatum is out for the season one would hope so.

I find it hard to believe that Nash would make a bad coach. Someone who’s known to be a high iq player and one of the best player-coaches ever should make a pretty easy transition. I know Nash was criticized for not making adjustments in the playoffs but it’s difficult to say it’s all his fault if we weren’t in the Nets’ huddles. If you tell Kyrie to come to the bench and he refuses, what can you do? Players have all the power these days.

I think you would've needed someone with Phil Jackson's zen like touch to deal with a trio as volatile as KD/Harden/Kyrie.

Nash has a laid back personality, I don't think that mixed well with that team. KD/Harden/Kyrie are also laid back, and not really true leaders, Kyrie in particular will push boundaries. Probably needed a coach who wasn't afraid to assert himself when necessary. Funny thing is, they had Udoka as an assistant coach one season then left, he probably would have been a better coach for them.

Cooper Flagg should eventually be a top 10 player but won't be elite his first year. Similarly even a guy like Nash with great understanding of the game that should also get respect for having a great playing career isn't going to immediately be a great coach. That was his first job. Normally a head coach spends years working as an assistant before he gets his first lead job. Nash got to skip all of that because Durant likes him but in retrospect it looks like he could have used a few years with Pop or someone first. It didn't justify the unprofessional approach Irving had to Brooklyn but a guy that's never even been an assistant shouldn't be in charge of a team trying to win a championship.

Kyrie is an affirmative action guy. He wanted black coach. He would've been cool with doc rivers or something. Ultimately, they didn't lose because of coaching, they lost because their Big 3 was always hurt. They looked awesome before Harden and Kyrie went down in 2021 playoffs and were probably the title favorites betting wise after the 1st round.

You expect no one to comment when Irving himself let's it be known he wasn't in board with Nash coaching? The colossal failure your team manufactured is going to be discussed on a basketball message board. I suggest you get used to it.

What did kyrie do during the covid season? He just becomes more shameless with each passing day. That's why i didn't feel any sympathy for him the moment he went down with his injury.
