By attitude I mean more like a state of mind or outlook. No, it isn’t fair for black people, but what are you going to do? Class inequality runs rampant, sure, but you still have way more opportunities here than most African countries. You wanna give the finger to racists who hate black people? Asians sure. I think that most Asian cultures have strayed away from violence for hundreds of years though, and for different reasons than power it seems. In general, it seems like most immigrants would not have any sort of violent tendencies (for the most part). It's definitely a big facet of why black fathers are so absent. Most white and latino families have a deep family tree they can go down, a last name to follow, and family traditions to uphold. In the back of their mind, they have to do their family proud, and live up to their last name.

Most black families in the US lack that family tree, the last name was given to them by a slave owner, it isn't theirs, and the father has no pressure on him to uphold the family traditions and uphold the pride of the last name. And their own father wasn't around, so they simply do not care.

It takes one of them to break that cycle, but much much much much easier said than done.

Ironically enough, white people are mostly to blame for the rise in popularity of gangsta rap music in the 90s. The influx of income from that industry was primarily from suburban white kids.

Too many view this topic through a black and white lens when in reality it is very complex. There are several reasons the black community has higher rates of violence. One of the reasons is in fact genetics though. African Americans were bred no different than farm animals early in the slave trade, they are bigger and stronger and faster than their ancestors are over in Africa. They are "alpha males" in the sense that the right likes to think of that term. And the result is higher testosterone than other races, which leads to aggressive behavior.

Look, generally speaking I am on your side here..meaning at the very least I'm willing and able to listen to and/or understand your perspective and recognize that there is an enormous amount of context and history involved with these things. For even doing that sometimes I get told that I'm a fool who can't see reality.

I know that you and most of the black people that you know, particularly the generation before you, have been treated very unfairly at some point simply because of your skin color. I also know that this leaves an impression (a valid one) that people who aren't in that position won't understand, especially if they don't care to.

However, your perspective on race is still just your perspective. It doesn't do well to generalize based on it in the same way that some white people you see on ISH or X do it. If what you are saying and how you act here is real and isn't just some ISH schtick (for the sake of this discussion I'll just assume that it's not even though I'm not actually sure), then you aren't really much better.
