View Full Version : What is the argument for Texas Gerrymandering?

After the Right stole The Supreme Court they are now trying to rig Texas to save the House. The Democrats have a right to protest this and not show up and stall out procedures in the State. Personally I feel like throwing people in jail if you don't let us rig the elections is clearly Fascism but perhaps their is a counterargument.

There is no logical argument for it. It's a blatant cheat tactic.

How is this even legal? Both parties do it, but Republicans are more notorious for it.. Smells like they know a blue wave avalanche is coming in 2026, and they are trying to save their House majority.

Trump knows Repugs will get buried in the mid-terms next year.

This is a way to reduce the number of seats lost.

LOL - Illinois already does this - Trump got 45% of the vote yet only 18% of congressional districts are Republican. If it's legal in a state, why not?

Blade already acknowledged that Dems do it as well.

Why not? Because of what rmt just stated -

No state should be doing this as it presents a false representation. This is the opposite of what a Democracy is.

These clowns have never seen the Illinois map.

Illinois Governor JB Pritzker, whose state has been gerrymandered to give Democrats a 14-3 congressional seat advantage, is asked how he can oppose what Texas is doing when his state is far worse. His brain malfunctions as he attempts to answer:

So you are good with Texas doing it, then California retaliates, then Ohio & Florida, then NY and Massachusetts?? It's going to result in no change once every blue state retaliates.

Typically, congressional districts are altered after the census, which happens every 10 years. Texas is trying to force it in the middle of the year. It won't matter because the moment Texas does it, the blue states will retaliate. So I'm not very concerned. Trump won't get what he wants here.

The blue states can retaliate all they want (as far as I'm concerned) as most of them are probably already gerrymandered to the hilt and can't squeeze out any more Dem seats. See Illinois (44% Trump vote with 18% congressional seats) and Massachusetts (36% Trump vote - 0% repub seats).

He acknowledged that Dems do it too, but that Republicans are worse and do it more. Didn't even have to prove it either, just casually put it out there as factual.

You dudes imported illegal beaners to try to get more voters and this is much less of an egregious attempt in order to offset it.

Rest in piss.

By all accounts their are far less blue states gerrymandered than Red States. You can point to Illinois all you want but North Carolina, South Carolina, Wisconsin, Texas, Louisiana, Kansas, Florida, Ohio and Georgia are some of the worst in the country.
