Former Washington Wizards star guard John Wall announced his retirement after 11 NBA seasons. Wall last played for the Los Angeles Clippers during the 2022-23 season.

Wall finishes with career averages of 18.7 points, 8.9 assists, 4.2 rebounds and 1.6 steals, while shooting 32.2% from beyond the arc. The 2010 first overall pick spent the first nine seasons of his NBA career as a member of the Wizards before a 2020 blockbuster trade with the Houston Rockets that saw Russell Westbrook sent to to Wizards.

Late in his NBA career, Wall dealt with an abundance of injuries that slowed him down. He had knee issues in multiple seasons that limited him to 41 or fewer games in his final four seasons.

Wall was also named Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month from January–April and finished second in Rookie of the Year voting behind unanimous selection Blake Griffin and was named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team.

A lot of unfulfilled potential. He had the same problems as a vet that he had as a rookie. He loved shooting midrange shots early in the clock even though he sucked at them. He was routinely out of control on his drives which made him easier to defend. He would throw up a lot of out of control shots and then beg to the refs. If he ever did a Euro step i sure can't remember it.

He was more of a legend for making it rain at the clubs than he was on the court.

Wall was good but overrated among general NBA fans.

Wild how he is retiring while Lebron is still making all-nba teams and 6th in MVP voting.

Obviously from his era of PGs he's behind Curry, Westbrook, Paul, Kyrie and Dame.

John Wall at his best was as good as who ... Gilbert Arenas, Deron Williams, Kevin Johnson, Rajon Rondo, Chauncey Billups?

Yup, his late career exposed him and his skills.

No grace or IQ to his game.

He wasn't as good as any of those players.

right one of the more gifted athletes to hit the floor..

that dude if he would of stayed healthy would of been a HOF'er.

Drive, dunk, defense, sweet jumper, and could read the floor
