Just 22,000 jobs added in August. Unemployment rises to 4.3%. Broader jobless rate jumps to 8.1%. Slowest 4-month growth since 2020. Plus, downward revisions for June and July of -21,000. Yikes.

and it's trending in a bad direction so this is just the start of a very bad economic period in this country's timeline. even the fed is going to disregard their inflation mandate and lower interest rates because all of the economic markers are not pointing in the direction we want them to.

She's going to beat John Kraft by 50 points.
Now you can go back to ignoring the Trump administration continuing to try and shut down Epstein investigations, the raving illogic of the idea that a tariff war was going to lower prices, the selective way in which Trump will only send the marines into blue states. Enjoy your delusions.

Not ignoring anything..... you're the one who disappeared for 10mos after your girl took a massive beat down. If this Chipocalypse is such a great idea why not deal with Louisiana the same way? Since we need martial law so badly. Murders don't happen in Republican states? If a school in Texas gets shot up don't they need a few thousand troops to stand guard too?

__________
Democratic city officials in New Orleans are clashing with Republican state leaders over President Donald Trump’s threat of sending in the military to patrol streets and assist local enforcement in the Big Easy.
Trump suggested Wednesday he may redirect National Guard members to New Orleans next, instead of Chicago where he has recently been threatening to surge troops – even while it’s still not clear troops will show up.
"So we’re making a determination now, do we go to
Chicago, or do we go to a place like New Orleans where we have a great governor, Jeff Landry, who wants us to come in and straighten out a very nice section of this country that’s become quite tough, quite bad,” Trump told reporters. “So we’re gonna be going to maybe Louisiana, and you have New Orleans, which has a crime problem.

https://www.cnn.com/2025/09/04/us/new-orleans-trump-national-guard Funny thing from this very article you posted:
Violent crimes are trending downward in New Orleans over the past year with homicides down about 27%, a 15% decrease in reported rapes and a 16.5% drop in robberies, according to data (https://majorcitieschiefs.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/MCCA-Violent-Crime-Report-2025-and-2024-Midyear-2.pdf) from the Major Cities Chiefs Association, a national organization of police chiefs. Much like in DC, things are improving. (https://share.google/9DDcJw8xFHLJTqEj1) But Trump needs to send in the troops so that stupid people can pretend that his administration is good at something.
It isn't. There may be some drop in crime rates in places like DC where the president forces a military presence against the will of the people that actually live there but it's not worth the negative impact to the local excommunicated, waste of US government resources (DOGE is an all-time farce).
But if he does decide to throw a bunch of troops at Louisiana I will Skowhegan that he is finally screwing with people in a red state, though I suspect it will be focused on brown people in New Orleans.

Trumps not looking great in this regard. I chimed in on this before, that that tariffs etc were a risk but could pay dividends if they pan out a certain way. So far, no big payoff. Economic strength isn't skyrocketing and as such is somewhat of a loss for team Trump so far. Economy needs to do better for his legacy to end on a decently high note which is a big motivating factor for him. Guy doesn't like to lose. Better change his strategy or stoke something soon as far as his economic strategy goes or he'll lose a decent amount of his base.
On another note he's doing exactly what he said he'd do as far as immigration laws and enforcement goes - which people voted for, so he gets good marks there (if of course, you voted for him, this is the same reason the other side hates him). He also hasn't made peace in Ukraine. Not sure what leverage he even has to do that. Putin appears to be stringing him along wasting everyone's time so far as predicted by critics on the left. Gotta call a spade a spade.
So he's doing what he said he'd do well enough in some areas, mediocre or outright floundering so far in a few others. We'll see how this keeps going. Hoping for a turnaround in his weak areas thus far, because I hope the country does well and I believe in more of what he at least "said" he'd do far more than I agreed with any of the DEI, woke, bigger government, and other nonsense the left ideology kept peddling.

Spoiler alert, another sweet baby angel randomly decided to stab a girl in the throat on a train in Charlotte. Prior the murder he'd been arrested 14 times for various violent crimes. of course i don't support illegal immigration in whole, but the approach this administration has taken is absolutely illegal. no due process, kidnapping, feds not identifying themselves jumping out of unmarked vehicles, shipping detainees to foreign countries. this administration's mantra is to intimidate and bulldoze minorities. it's never been about following the law, because they certainly don't do it themselves (see illegal strike on Venezuelan boat of which no drugs were produced, or the massacre of north korean civilians just to plant bugs...). the right has demonized immigrants, not just illegals, but literally any immigrant bc idiots like trump just want excuses to hand out billion dollar contracts to his donor buddies and to intimidate left leaning supporters.

Obama was deporting at a similar rate with a fraction of the cost, without making actual legal mexicans afraid to go to work in fear of being mistaken for an illegal and hauled off. Obama prioritized illegals who crossed the most recently and criminals at first, but then we saw a dip in productivity and he narrowed it to criminals- and guess what, productivity went back up, so we knew it would affect the economy just going by what happened here.

So basically Obama made illegal immigration legal, as long as you didn't break the law other than that, which basically means open borders. Can't have it, and if you target everyone and is very loud about it, you get the benefits of people taking the money and stuff they've already saved up and go home on their own accord through self deportation.
Also, regarding the job reports:
A humongous 911,000 downward revision of jobs from April 2024 to March 2025. Biden was bragging about jobs numbers during his reelection campaign that simply weren’t there. And too-late Powell once again proved to be living up to his nickname.

Again with the whataboutism with these MAGAtards...anyways some economists suggest Trump is purposely crashing the economy. He's on record talking about it, the idea behind it is that in an economic crash, the billionaires buy up financial assets pennies on the dollar and on the economic upswing, they'll be even more wildly rich. How many billionaires are on his administration, again? He's such a scumbag con artist that you shouldn't put it past him. Lastly, his trade war has been an unmitigated disaster, all it has done so far is lose jobs at home and push former trading partners to China's arms, like India and South Korea for example. Trump is legit mentally retarded or has nefarious reasons...pick one.

You used to believe the job reports under Biden before they were revised down, that's why you're feeling Trump is crashing the economy. Sometimes I wonder if this shit is all coordinated. When the economy fails, the rich step in to swoop up more assets cheap, then when it recovers, the rich emerge with even more control and power, and everyone middle class and below are weaker. One more rinse and repeat of this, and we could be looking at revolution. The rich will ensure that the poor will be thrown down scraps by the government but the middle and working class have lost too much ground. Something is gonna break soon

Yes, it’s coordinated. For example, the cme owns around 30% of the dow and s&p500. They own enough shares to single handedly influence it going up or down. If the middle class unites, we can do the same: see the reddit gamestop incident. Hilarious how much hedgefunds were crying that a bunch of reddit neckbeards were doing to them what they’ve been doing to the middle class for years.

I don't think the middle class can influence anywhere close to the institutions, unfortunately. The institutions own around 80% of the stock market. Retail is 20% or less. If Crosstin's theory is correct, then it's going to get even worse. Retail can influence a few stocks if coordinated but barely move the entire stock market.
If we go by wealth distribution, the top 10% owns 90% of all stocks. Of that, 1% owns 50%.

I'm not down for a free-for-all when it comes to the borders but there's no way that we as Americans, with our birth rates currently, can sustain without hard-working non-current American individuals contributing.
There still needs to be a process for them but it needs to be easier. It's a pain in the ass for them currently.

It needs to be regulated so the people coming to work in the US only can do so in the fields where it's actually needed and they need to be paid at levels where they aren't sucking out the bottom of the job market. All western countries take in immigrants to work, but most have strict rules on how much they need to be paid.

Trump just randomly hits the economy with experimental procedures. Like this 100k H1B visa fee. If we were less into demonizing foreigners we would recognize that this discourages the kind of immigration that you would think you want most where you bring in highly educated people that will likely want to have their families with them and be productive members of society. But, no, instead we are making it so that well-educated immigrants will only come here if Elon Musk wants you badly. So other wealthy countries will reap the true benefits of this. We never did calculated analytics of what tariffs the market would most easily bear, what could be most harmful and what might do the most good. Instead they get used as a weapon. Oh, Brazil wants to prosecute Bolsomaro? 50%. That's not economic analysis at all and yet these actions will have sweeping effects not just on Brazil but on America as well.

Trump administration and Project 2025 aren't considering unintended consequences. Such as behavior of other countries changing where they stop doing business with America or charge significantly extra money. We are not going to start manufacturing like in the 50s and 60s. Those days are over when American citizens used to work in shit conditions inside factories for cheap.
Who is going to build hundreds of manufacturing factories across America? Will American citizens work in them? All the tariffs will do is increase the cost of everything, rather than force America to restart manufacturing. It also takes years to build these factories and change the supply chains. Another issue: tariffs apply to natural resources too. Are millions of American citizens going to return to mining too? Good luck with that.

The inflation rate from Jan-Aug 2025 with tariffs was lower than the inflation rate Jan-Aug 2024 without tariffs.
Cool
Now explain to me how China isn't the one who has come out on top making all these new trade deals with former US trading partners like S Korea, Australia and India. How has Trump's idiotic trade war hasn't been anything short of just plain retarded? How many new jobs created? How many new trade deals? 100 deals in 100 days LMAO
Release the Epstein Files, your bloated pedo POTUS is all over them. Your moral compass is trash.

Overall I don't expect crazy good job numbers for many years to come, there are just too many positions disappearing due to AI. Tasks that were complicated in the past are becoming simple.
China has had free trade deals with S Korea, Japan and Australia since 2015, covering lots of products. The US could potentially have open trade with the EU, but the EU doesn't want that as they know a lot of their manufacturers would be wiped out.
And China has their own problems:
