But this isn't on law ENFORCEMENT, they've arrested him every single time afaik and did their job; so the answer to solving these kinds of incidents isn't to create some police state with our military. Overcrowded prisons is another problem. Maybe put more non-violent criminals on probation so we can throw more of the violent ones in? But the prison industrial complex wants the nonviolent ones who are more compliant and are much more likely to have marketable skills to do their slave work. Maybe take it up with those guys who lobby our lawmakers.

that's an excellent point actually. every crime that baller has mentioned has involved law enforcement arrests, so why call for more police/military involvement if they have been already involved? the system absolutely has problems, from prosecutors cutting deals to judges incarcerating excessively to the prison industrial complex lobbying legislators for silly laws.

the marijuana laws are a prime example of that. it's illegal on a federal level even though there's been tons of lobbying to make it legal in some states, so some states were successful but because it's still illegal on a federal level, it leaves the door open for law enforcement to make arrests based on possession alone. not to mention that in the yes of the government, it's grouped with the likes of heroin and crack LOL. gee, i wonder who lobbied to make those sorts of laws and classifications.
