The actual name given to the dunk by GOAT himself.
interview ahead of the dunk contest ahead of his "home" crowd. Rick Barry talked to GOAT and he said "he has something special for the home crowd, I already named the dunk"
Usually, he came out in the dunk contest, warming up and peaking in semis and finals.
this time he wanted to shock the crowd, shot himself out of the cannon, to defend the dunk title in front of the home crowd.
Rick Barry labeled the very first, opening dunk, "Chinese Superman Dunk." Reason, the hips flexing, very slight sideways lean into the rim, and stretching his massive almost 7 feet wingspan.............like a "flying shaolin monk" stretching acrobatics with spear from the medival era themed chinese movies.
unfortunately, just like "captain marvel," the dunk name never stuck or even became popular. thanks to all the controversy of who "really" won.
