I said he wasn't some gentle guy. His opinions were aggressive and outlandish from a moderate POV. Yes, he presented them in a polite manner, but that doesn't make them less radical. While I don't agree with them it's absolutely ok to share those opinions and express them.

It's not a justification for the murder it's a critique on the right acting like Kirk's opinions where "mild" and no reason to be upset about them. Going as far as trying to have people losing their job and experience physical violence upon critizising Kirk after his death.*

No one is demanding you worship Kirk in death.

No one is calling for anyone to be fired who simply disagreed with Kirk's opinions.
