I'm watching the Miami Hurricanes game tonight against the Florida Gators and the offense for the Hurricanes is just shitting the bed and Carson Beck is playing like trash.

They end up winning the game, and then my best friend texts me to tell me that this is the greatest Miami team he's seen since the early 2000's. In my mind I'm thinking like WTF is he smoking. I told him the defense is on point, but the offense stunk and Carson Beck looked like shit out there. He comes back with Carson Beck is one of the finalists for the Heisman.

I didn't text him back anymore after that. And it got me thinking. There are two different types of sports fans out there. Fans that prop up their team no matter what and are always singing their praises, and fans like me that despite their team winning, there were so many things that they did wrong that frustrated the hell out of you because you know this team should be better.

And I think that's the true measure of what a sports fan should be. Even when your team wins, it shows that you pay attention to the little things and the details and you focus on the imperfections because you care about winning that much more. At least that's what I think.

You’re a pessimist. Usually the sign of a dog shyt fan who will instantly forget, deny, “nothing to see here” all the crap you said about the team when they win. Ungrateful. Yeah sure that’s how fans should be…

I mean I understand the sentiment though. The way the Canes played offensively last night wouldn’t fly against Ohio State or Georgia. And if the goal is to win the natty then those are the boys you have to go through.

Having said that, yes this is probably the best Miami team in 20 years.

Saying Miami offense looked like trash is crazy. Saying beck looked like trash without even mentioning the WRs lack of seperation plays a part in a QBs success is crazy part two. Ignoring Florida pass defense has been pretty damn good this season is misleading. Context is lost here imo. What’s not mentioned is how dominant the canes rushing attack is. Or for that matter that damn OL being ready for all on comers. Simply saying beck was trash is a lazy espn take.

This canes team is the best in the last 20 years. They don’t even have to blitz to cause chaos which is fantastic if you ask me. If the WRs and Beck end up on the same page as season progresses? Scary hours if you ask me.
