how do we feel about this? they create video games but it's another major american "sell-out" to middle east oil money.

personally i am not a fan of PE or investment groups like this buying out American operated companies. they all have the same result in the end which is loss of american jobs and a very subpar product. that's a given.

What EA needs is competition, that's why their product has been ass for nearly 20 years.

NFL Madden games were legendary during the 90's and into the mid 00's. During the early-mid 00's they had legit competition with 2k, because of that, you had fantastic products like Madden 04 & '05 & ESPN NFL 2k5, arguably the best NFL video games ever were made during that span.

Once the NFL licensed with EA exclusively their product quickly went to shit. That's what happens when there is no competition, you get lazy and the innovation is not there.

The best NBA video game ever is probably NBA 2k11, when they had competition with EA sports. Look at the NBA 2k games now that they don't have competition, they are ass.

those early nba 2k games were good but they definitely got complacent with they overtook nba live for good. kind of like the COD games, they were great until no one else was putting anything good out and they've since just released slightly different versions of the same game multiple times - it gets stale quick.

still remember live 03, legendary soundtrack https://www.thecoli.com/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/banderas.png

EA has a lotto ticket with battlefield 6 tho, especially bc people are sick of activision releasing the same cod every 2 years with microtransactions and fornite style game play. bf6 is going to take the crown.

Don't be so sure of that. They managed to screw up Battlefield 5.

i played the beta back in august and it was very well done with little to no cartoonish characteristics. it's well balanced.

This thread made me realize 2003-2004 may have been the best years ever for sports video games. 2004 especially.

Madden 04 (2003)
NBA Street Vol 2 (2003)
MVP Baseball 2004 (2004)
NFL 2k5 (2004)
Madden 05 (2004)
NFL Street (2004)
NFL Street 2 (2004)

I had all these games except MVP Baseball 2004 & NFL 2k5 (bought Madden '05 that year instead). I never played it, but I've heard people say MVP Baseball 2004 was the best MLB video game they have ever played.

I mean holy shit, all these games are bonified classics. Even the NBA Live & NBA 2k games that I didn't mention were going strong during those years. The NFL Street games were not as great as NBA Street Vol 2, but were still super fun to play.
