View Full Version : Why is it okay for Ant to lose with a 4x DPOY when MJ won with a 0x DPOY?

Ant couldn't win with a 4x DPOY teammate, another All-defensive guy, and an equal-scoring partner in KAT or Randle

Ant is a short guy that needs 5 and 6 dribbles to get to the rim like Rose or Westbrook, which can't be compared to big guys that get to the rim in 1 dribble like Kawhi, MJ, Kobe or Lebron

Thats not even a definitive statement. Pippen was a defensive demon. Rudy gets choked by smaller players.

^^^ This is a common misconception - MJ simply had no all-star, All-NBA, or DPOY help at 24 years old like Ant has now and had for several years now - 24-year old MJ would have 2-3 titles with Ant's help, since he won with much less and was actually far more dominant in the 80's

1 player was an all-star alongside MJ (Pippen), while Parish and Rodman were fossils like 2010 Shaq or 08' Ben Wallace, or Drummond, and many more..

Essentially, Pippen is all that MJ had, while Ant entered the league with All-NBA KAT and now Randle, while McDaniels is a 2-way pippen and then DPOY Gobert is overkill - completely stacked.. MJ 3-peated with far less.

Pippen did finish 1st in All Defense voting 4 straight years from 94 to 97. Thats more impressive than winning DPOY because the coaches were voting for All Defense teams back then. Also, a coach couldn't vote for a player on his team.

Gervin wasnt an all star with mj. Rodman was great the first year with mj. I wouldnt have brought him back the 3rd year. More of a distraction than anything the last two years.
