Was Madden 05 the one that started QB vision?

Either way, the Madden run between 04-06 was electric.

Then NCAA Football from 07-10.

QB vision was Madden 06. They took it off the game because it was too difficult for casual gamers I think.

Madden 05 was the intro to the hit stick, which is still used today.

Added Madden 04 in the poll because it’s usually the pick for best Madden game ever, incredibly in depth game, but Madden 05 is right behind it.

Madden 2005 is 2004 but with the hit stick implemented. I think 06 or 07 had the QB vision. Either one of those was the best. I had the Falcons Vick cover on the gamecube. Its hard to improve past that which is why the franchise became stale.

Madden 07 was the best with Shaun Alexander on the cover. The career mode was deep and thorough.

Playing a lot of football games growing up, its either Madden 04 or NCAA Football 06.

I played a lot of 2K5 and loved it. I just don't think its on the level of the two games I mentioned.

Shit, I was playing Madden 04 and NCAA Football 06 during Covid.

Yea, NFL 2k5 was an amazing game, top 5 ever in my book, but I notice lots of people call it the best football game ever simply because it was the last NFL game made by 2k. Lots of people preferred Madden 05 when both games came out, which was an amazing game in its own right. Madden 2004 was more groundbreaking than 2k5 when it released.

Its Tecmo bowl but madden 04 ncaa 06 or 07 (cant remember which) gives it a run for its money. I never played 2k football. Damn dynasty mode was the shit back then. Tony Bruno show and the ncaa magazine covers.

O yeah and one of the maddens in the mid 2010's was actually good game. dont remember the year. maybe 2012 14 15....hell idk

Madden 03,06, and 07 were also pretty goated on gen 6

edit randomly returned to dynasty 16 years later and played madden 21 dynasty during covid and that soundtrack is actually fking fire.

O yeah and when i came back to play madden franchise in madden 21, it was like missing every feature. i i couldnt believe it. it was missing everything. they didnt advance the game at all in 2 decades. The only good thing was i was able to download draft classes online. that was literally the only thing they improved on. I went right back into retirement madden 21 after that season ended. you arent missing anything. trust me. Dont chase nostalgia

Madden 2002 to 2005 were the greatest years.... played very rarely in 2006 to 2008.... 2009 was when it ended for me... haven't played that game since. Not once.

Bad news. Looks like the peak of sports video game football is long gone.

EA Sports and the NFL extend Madden partnership through 2030

2k5 > 2k1

Madden 05 > Madden 04. I guess if you were a kid 04 is better running around with Vick. 05 just way better. Way better maddens than 04. Madden 8, 10, 25 to boot.

Not sure goat football game. Tough. I’d have to really think. Some close ones.

I feel Madden 04 is often higher regarded than Madden 05 because it introduced playmaker control which is still used today and an incredibly in-depth franchise mode where you could even re-locate your team and set ticket & food prices. Franchise mode even had training camp where you could do minicamp drills before the regular season started.

It was so far ahead of its time it was ridiculous. Madden 05 was basically Madden 04 with an introduced hit stick which was another great add, they also added a radio show in franchise mode in Madden 05 which I thought was cool, but it did get redundant after completing a couple of seasons of franchise mode.

To add to this, Madden 2004 was winning video game of the year at award shows after it released, which is something you don't really see sports video games do.
