The current coaches dad developed it in the late 80s when his conference got the three-point line as a way to make up for getting less talented players. He just recruited shooters and let them go crazy.

Which is how one of his guys broke the college single game scoring record in 2012 when he scored like 113.
Around that time, his son managed to get a job in the D league in Reno and had them use the offense, but he wasn’t able to do the full court press on top of it because of the different substitution rules not letting him switch out players quick enough when they got exhausted.
