View Full Version : I think it's possible that AI may eventually lead to a mass exodus from social media

It's already reached the point where whenever you see some outrageous video, the first thing you ask yourself is.. "Is this AI?"

It's only going to get worse. Very soon you will not be able to tell the difference. Not only that, every single person will be able to produce their own AI content. Fake vacation photos, fake videos, etc. Every visual that comes across your feed will have the potential be totally fake.

And that's just on the visual side of things. You're probably already engaging with AI content that you might not even be aware of. You have no idea what's being published by an AI-bot or if a human user is just copying and pasting from ChatGPT.

So AI is great for fictional content creation and memes, but it's terrible for trust and communication. Without that I'm not sure why people would even continue to be on social media at all. It'll just be some AI infested cesspool.

On the plus side maybe it will encourage people to be social again. Maybe social media will be considered "uncool".

Just speculating.
