S Tonight. Michael Porter Junior gets to take 32 shots on the nets. Porziņģis and Trae Young in Atlanta. Wemby and AD in Flaggs first real game.

Cavs and Knicks at seven on ESPN with the mavs and Spurs league game.

Me with several parlays, which are the only reason the night will get most of my attention.

i’ve given a contractor his $5200 and instructed this woman to pick a grout color. I’ve dropped off my mom‘s new phone. I have purchased several douche bag beers. I have nothing left on the agenda. I will probably go rake some pine needles and then I intend to flip between ESPN and league pass for five hours like it’s 2006 again. We’ll see if I can catch the spark I used to have.

I’m not hopeful. But we will see. Should’ve taken some pork chops out earlier I could throw on the grill. It’s just passed the point in the day where it’s probably too late for them to thaw….

Oh well.

DoorDash and descending into gambling madness it is.

Apparently they're going to start Coop at point guard? WTF... I actually want to see that.

Also how is he still only 18 years old when hes already done a year in college?

Becoming more common to graduate high school early for top prospects

Brad daugherty was 16 when he finished high school. I assume because he was smart enough and he was probably bigger than kids 2 years older than him when he entered kindergarten?

Yeah they said a few months ago they would try Flagg at pg. I doubt they try it very long. His handles aren't good enough to be a primary ball handler.

Davis deserves it more at this point. Sure Adrian would probably score 75% of the time in a true one on one without help but he’d have to turn everyone else into spectators and you’d lose half your games once they figure out he will give a good number of them back.

I can’t trade 75 possessions of elite defense for a few more trips to the free-throw line and three or four more points.

I never got a good read on what VJ could do on offense but he definitely showed a lot on D.

If young Konrad Dalton is better than Durant they just might.

The original doesn’t automatically keep it. Ric Flair is the nature boy not Buddy Rogers

Flagg has not lived up to the hype so far.

Couple rebounds over Wemby, couple steals, moving the ball quickly in transition and making quick decisions. Anyone who thought he’d score 20 a game as a rookie was fooling themselves. Hasn’t scored but he’s doing a lot of good things. Not a horrible first quarter

Castle seems to have taken a step forward. He’s going to be a pain in the ass to deal with.

And DLo still is the most annoying player to watch ever.

He’s dominating AD..

You don’t usually see that.

Cooper will be fine but the generational tag was obviously miscalculated.

We see what a generational talent looks like in this game it just isn't playing for Dallas.

Flagg is going to be just fine. He obviously has basketball talent. Like both Kenny and Barkley said, he does not need to be playing point guard. He is a scorer..

Great game by Walker Kessler for the Jazz. Was it a fluke?

Yea, not a knock on Flagg, but a Wemby type player is obviously more rare. He's basically an upgraded Ralph Sampson on both ends of the court and Sampson was seen as a generational talent when he came into the league too.

Wemby's skill potential isn't surprising nowadays but he still has a lot to prove in terms of longevity.

How are we making definitive career judgments about an 18 year old based upon his first NBA game where his coach has him playing out of position? He's already had a better first NBA game than Kobe or T-Mac who barely got on the court doing their first games. Look at how good they were at their peaks. No. I'm not saying that he's necessarily going to be as good as either one of them were, but your first NBA game says little to nothing about the rest of your career, especially when you're still a teenager.

Looks like we'll never hear the end of your rants about him or anyone who played in the era he got drafted in.

RE: Flagg, starting his career at PG isn't the way to determine his scoring potential. They should have used him as a finisher.

This game was all Wemby though. Huge warning shot fired at the league.

Giddey still drawing fouls like Butler/Harden. That seems to be a legitimate skill development. Has maintained through last season (especially the 2nd half), the preseason, and game one of 2025-26.

I'm not going to look too much into some of the results tonight. The biggest takeaway from the SAS-DAL game was Wemby's lack of three-point attempts. That's great; it seems he's embraced his potential as a paint killer. Off the dribble, roll & cut, or in the post. That's very scary for the rest of the NBA.

^ That's what some of us were saying last year. More specifically, I was likening him to a 7'5 version of how Chris Bosh was at his Raptors peak.( meaning stylistically, to be clear).. Work from the elbow in, keep the 3point attempts down to 4-5 max( maybe even 3ish).

What are you talking about? You obviously have me confused with some other poster. Since the finals ended I would be shocked if I've posted on here more than three times not counting tonight. Also, 99% of my posts have absolutely nothing to do with Kobe. Since I've been on ISH I've probably posted more about Bill Russell than Kobe.

That's a good call. Bosh led the league in post-up PPP twice (2008 - Chris Bosh (1.052 PPP); 2010 - Chris Bosh (1.093 PPP)). Synergy Sports Tracking defines a post-up play as catching the ball with the back to the basket, within 15 feet. So, it's a lot of elbow face-up attacks for Bosh. Right up Victor's alley.

His pivots and strides are so long, and he's relatively quick and quite coordinated. Bosh elbow/high-post face-up attacks with some Hakeem mid-post and McHale low-post.

One positive I'll say for Flagg is that he physically looks the part. Looks broad and strong-built for such a young player. Has to be somewhere around 225. Not rookie LBJ (240), but then again, who was?

Anthony Davis looked like a ****ing toddler.

Wembanyama might already be the best player to ever touch a basketball.

Just hope he stays healthy. And I knew I should have bet on MVP this year. He was 18 to 1 or some crazy shit before the season started literally 1 week ago. Obviously that line has shifted way up. I was stupid to not make that bet and I literally never bet on anything.

Fanduel now has him ahead of Jokic. lol.

Either until Kyrie returns or if the team completely falls on its face and they insert D-LO until the aforementioned comes back. Cooper should be playing the 3 and on the receiving end. He has strong playmaker IQ but he doesnt quite have the handle and it doesnt really play to his strengths.
