The Pacers were already 1-0 in the series and Reggie had the chance to send game 2 to OT. And Prince made an incredible play and the rest is history. Why is not this sequence remembered as much as other memorable play-off moments (Havlicek steal, Larry Bird's steal, Magic's "baby sky hook", etc.)?

well, its not like they lost at home, they were on the road, and they still would have had 16 seconds to win it before OT.
None the less its an epic moment of course.

Umm, because Lebron came along 12 years later and did a better one?

The play itself is insane but the problem is that the Pacers and Pistons are not popular teams. Pistons won that series averaging 75 ppg lol. The league hated that style of play so they changed the rules the following year by banning handchecking thus opening up the game.
