I'm currently in a truce with Axe, so I'm curious to hear his take on this crash, since he's an airplane aficionado.

From one of the comments, "The dash camera is an ultra wide lens giving a perception things are far away. In actuality, they are far closer than it appears."

Tragic. Rip to all lives lost. Still folks unaccounted for. Appears this plane shouldn’t have been in service with the engine being an issue. Cracks/corrosion. Pretty sad whoever made the decision to keep it flying. Guess the pressure of the big wigs at UPS. Who knows.

From what I know the engine fell off and debris damaged the 2nd engine on the back of plane. And the wing being damaged was locked in a position of no control. This was a scenerio where nothing you could have done to save the day. Besides seeing reports that this plane should’ve been serviced or taken off the fleet.

That sounds exactly like what happened to American 191, still the deadliest plane crash in US history.

Flying is pretty crazy if you think about it. These planes have literally millions of parts and no matter how good of oversight you have, it’s realistically impossible to keep tabs on everything. I had a flight home after a bachelor party a few years ago and my flight got canceled and I had to spend an extra night. They found something seriously wrong during one of the last maintenance checks. Got me thinking that I was close to getting on a ****ed up plane.

Hey Yo

I remember waiting to board a plane and announcement came over saying the flight was delayed due to mechanical problems.

Tell me fukking anything but "having mechanical problems!!".... dumb

This was a cargo plane.

This was a cargo plane.

Of course it was.... they're not in the business of booking flights going to people's preferred vacation destination.

You mean like the plane you eventually took where you didn’t want to hear “mechanical problems” of your delayed flight? Oh ok. Guess your point is you made it home and you’re here today to tell the tale.

Anyway back to the crash. 12 confirmed dead 9 people missing. So many angles from videos being posted. Still a jaw dropping tragedy.

You'd have a point if I didn't say "a plane" but I did. Nowhere in my post did I insinuate that it was a UPS plane I was waiting to board

Commercial airlines are under strict regulations when it comes to maintaining the planes. If they say “mechanical problem” why would one assume someone would half ass it because they want to go home early? And yet you still got on the plane.

This was a cargo airliner. One that should have been out of commission but was continued being used for “costs”. A plane that should’ve been in the maintenance yard but was allegedly pushed back out as “good”. Yet the same engine that was reported to be corroded and cracked happened to be the one that fell off the wing. Long post shower whatever neglect or oversight took place on the cargo plane is one thing. You being told your plane has a delay is another.

Hey you autismo dipshit. No one was comparing and contrasting cargo and passenger planes. It was just talking about flying in general. No one cares about your autistic obsessing about cargo planes. **** off you argumentative ape.

Oh btw this looks identical to the crash that happened at the Pentagon.

Same kind of explosion, same amount of smoke... Identical.

The UPS plane that crashed is the follow up model of this plane that crashed in 1979.

Objectively speaking, since I don't know much about GOBB, this is a very good post.

I remember one time having a delayed flight. Wasn’t told what the issue was. Scary hours. Shaking in my boots. Still ended up on the flight and made it to my destination. What does that have to do with the ups crash? Nothing. Just want to let everyone know my flight experience. Not sure why.

This model might be taken out of service, for life. Bad news for plane enthusiasts, like the person in the video, and Axe.
