Something I always wanted was a nick name, but I was never "good" enough to earn one.

On one of my most consistent days, where I was L'ing up my arm and elbow and making shots incredibly consistently, just hitting everything and lighting people up, someone called me "Go Sow Sah Sow" which means "Elite Shooter" in Cantonese.

A few other people murmured in agreement.

I was pretty damn proud.

people started calling "bon-shen" (Chinese Mandarin) lately since my bank shots have gotten pretty rediculous. bon = board. shen = god. my bank shot angles (as little as 10 deg or so to 40 degrees) and range (3-5 footers to 2 steps with in college 3) are pretty good and I'm deadly accurate. otherwise i've never been given any nick names before on a court.

How embarrassing would it be to be greeted by your friends with a name like that when you step on the court, and then proceed to get your ass busted?

That reminds me of last weekend when I was at the park when this guy showed up, wearing a Lakers jacket, Lakers sweats, and gold Kobe's. He also brought along his grandfather and asked him to record the game. It was undoubtedly my most enjoyable win ever.

theres this guy i play with that is kind of slow. Hes not full on mentally handicapped but you know a lil slow, anyways he swears hes Kobe he tries all these flashy moves and fails miserably and he yell "Kobe" while doin them. And I'm sorry but being called Kobe/Larry/Jordan and other names is just wrong to me. Streetball names are personal, dudes at the YMCA calling you Kobe because you shoot a fade-away with a hand in your face is just wrong. That's just me though.
