A friend of mine was at my appartment today and she was looking through some NBA magazine I have laying around. Of course she had to comment on Maggette and Wade being players she liked.

Anyway, she actually came up with a funny question, she was flipping through this yearbook and mentioned that it seemed like every nba player in the mag had shaven his armpits. So she asked me if it was normal these guys shave their armpits and maybe legs. In southern Europe and Northern Africa it's normal guys do this.

BUT when I just clicked through the pics of the Utah/Seattle game someone posted here, the hair was all there. I mean we all know Chris Mullin used to stash his tobaco under his arms, but I'm kinda puzzled about that magazine. Did they photoshop the armpits to make the pics look better? I don't know. Maybe I just need to stash away basketball magazines the next time I've got company.

Gooden once had Infected hair follicles which caused him to miss a game. Maybe he didn't shave his legs properly?

most professional athletes get regular massages on their whole body and especially legs as a means of regeneration. If you're getting regular massages on a hairy patch of skin, it won't turn out well. Things like the Gooden incident happen.

Alot of them do - some don't... and it doesn't have to be NBA players - enough people shave their armpits - only a few do their legs however...

Imagine having to rip the athletic tape off your ankles/legs every night with hairy legs.

I heard Shaq gets a Brazilian...Mullin had to be related to Robin Williams.

Not full out shave but I do trim them...

You kind of have to, otherwise you end up applying deodorant only to your hairs and not the skin.

Shaving your pits is gay. Trimming them is acceptable.

If I were an nba player I’d shave my pits. Just think of all the chafing that goes on the court. It would make for better movement. I would probably shave my balls too for that purpose.
