Has anyone had significant growth spurts after age 16? [Archive] - Message Board Basketball Forum

I grew quite a bit after 16, though I'm not sure if it's significant.

14- 5'5"
15- 5'9"
16- 5'10"
17- 5'11"
18- 6'0 1/2"
19- 6'1 1/4"

Today(19 1/2)- 6'2"

Interesting how my growing slowed down, and sped up again. I've grown 4 inches since age 16. Anyone grow more than that?

I wasn't 16 but at one point in high school i was 4'11 and 85 pounds, and by the time i graduated i was 5'9 and like 155. (5'9 and 170 now)

Well, I'm only 17 but I have grow about an inch and a half since I was 16, plus I have a tall family so I hope I can still grow enough. I'm 6"3 now and I really just want to be anymore between 6"5-6"8...I don't think I'll be 6"8 but that's the most I would want to be.

I've always grown pretty gradual. I've never had a growth spurt, I've always grown in small parts and I'm 6'4 at 17 now.

Yeah my one friend was 6'2" in FIFTH GRADE and we were all like "wow he's gonna end up being like 7 feet"

Four years into college he's 6'3"

That's crazy. My dad was 6'4" at 13 and didn't grow a centimeter after that.

I went through puberty when I was 16 1/2 so I grew about 8 inches.

Damn, i just realized i grew about an inch since the last time i checked, which was maybe 7 months ago. I figured I just stopped growin because i barely grew at all between my Jr/Sr years.

I'm now 5'7" w/o shoes.

i havent grown since the 8th grade. i was 5'11-6' when i was in middle school, & i'm still the same being a junior in college.

rodman had a crazy growth spurt after he turned 20 or so

When I was 16, I was 4'10", I grew to 5'7" in 2 years.

No but im hoping for one to be a bit taller. i was always the tallest of my mates by a long way untill i stopped growing at about 14-15 ish. i wanna be taller than 6'2 to dunk more.
i know this guy who was about 5'11 untill he hit twenty then he went up to like 6'4 (well thats what he claims). he could dunk at 5''11 and now at 6'4 has crazy hops
