This is just an example, but these shirts that have classic cartoon characters depicted doing "gangsta" things like with gold teeth, smoking a joint, or something are just an abomination. They're generally sold at Malls in the little Kiosks, swap meets, Beauty shops, and Hip Hop stores as well as barber shops.

Can't Cartoon Network, or whoever owns the rights to these cartoons, sue? I mean, Lot 29 is a name brand that makes shirts with cartoons on them and they had to get official licensing to do so.

The school I graduated from banned them. There was the one with the angry looking snowman with x's for eyes that says, "I got that snow, man!" and they banned it, and you can't wear anything depicting drug use or explicit words and sexual imagery anyways so they didn't have to expressly ban those. You still see tons of the ones with the mean mugs.

Also, who here is willing to admit they were these abominations?

Are there any worse fashion trends out there now?

Currently yes.

I've rocked the grilled Spongebob look variouz times in middle-school however.

Find it quite charming. Blending in the best of both worldz from my childhood.

My hard upbringing in the hood along with a couple of my fav cartoonz.

Gorgeous combination.

However, it does look quite cheezy, and it should be limited to a twice a year outfit (once when going out to party with highschool kidz, and once at the Nickeloden Awardz (skip this one)

well, all the trends discussed in this thread are friggin ridiculous, and i hope we can all agree on that.

that first picture with the grinch shirt.... holy crap. makes me think of the andre 3000 line:
your white tee, well to me, looks like a nightgown
make your mama proud, take that thing two sizes down.

and that picture of all those guys with the same shirts and the same hairstyle... possibly the worst style of all is copying others. i won't get over that picture in a while.

Sometimes, they only logical explanation is that people are just stupid :oldlol:

There's not always a "sexy" explanation. Kinda like in the NBA, where some players have it, and others don't. Some players are so far past the point of no return, therefore getting the " he sucks" label.

I have to rephrase what I said. A normal wool scart is fine for what you said. I personally don't cause I don't like my neck crowded.:D

But the dude's I'm talking about are those metrosexuals who wear some gay ass silk scarf or something like that, then they have their fitted tan leather jacket.

I've never understood the whole emo thing, I can't think of a logical reason for someone to want to be depressed.

I have to admit, I have a fringe on most days, I guess, just not every day of my life - sometimes I wear a hat backwards, sometimes I just wake up and go to school like that. I think what brings down the reputation of emo's is the ones that actually follow the stereotype like it's a religion and who are actually so concerned about being different that they just end up the same as every other person.

My mates and I are just relaxed people who go out, have fun, drink when we can, and just have a good time and be chilled about everything. And yes, we pretty much all have emo fringes, except for a few. There are different kinds of emo's out there, not just the depressed one.

I ****ing hate that pose so much. Every picture I see of girls, or pictures that I get taken with a friend or something, they're always doing the stupid puckered lips crap. It's the worst trend going around, it was even worse then the tongue out to the side crap.

Soccer is the big thing here, there is an underground hoops following, but this is a "flavour of the month" town. Everybody is a Lakers fan, although the Rockets are pretty popular due to Yao. The people that play here have a style over substance game. They would rather look good and miss than actually play properly. Try and break your ankles and talk ****, but forget to shoot the ball. Lol Ed Hardy was cool like 4 years ago. Then he added the "by Christian Audigar" part on top of it and it became cory. Then lame kids picked up on it.

It was made popular by those shirts with the Tigers on the front that Cierra wore in some music videos. Once a brand goes into mass production you know it's played out. Or if it's sold at Costco.

Ralph Lauren bought the rights back from Costco once Kanye started making their clothes more popular. Now Ralph Lauren is getting more expensive.

There is a store at a mall near Portland called Buckle. I went in there wearing some Rock and Republic jeans a couple years ago and the dude asked me if I wanted a job there.

He showed me this brand named Affliction and started acting like it was the future. He started asking me about my Gucci shirt and saying I should buy some Affliction if I like those labels (please..). I'm just rolling my eyes at how lame that brand is at that moment.

Affliction is just a big fail. You want to wear some really nice hard rock clothes try Great China Wall, Amal Guessous, Jaded by Knight, or Chrome Hearts. High price range and hard to find (unless you live in LA), but it's not cheesy.

I looked at jaded, chrome hearts and amal and they all have that same tacky look.

And Manute, everything on the runway is pretty much an exaggeration anyways... you change a few things on the first guys look (different shirt, lose the hat and weird smile) and it would be ok.

That's the point, that IS how they dress here, bad shirt buttoned up to the chin, short shorts, dumb hat, stupid smile and all. It has to be seen to be believed and just seems really uncomfortable...

Also, the American study abroad students are usually the worst dressed by far.

That's funny. I say the same thing about most of the Asians who study abroad here. No offense, but some of their fashion senses are totally Fresh of the Boat and I feel like they're trying TOO hard or something.

I haven't seen many Europeans but considering how Americans like to copy European fashion, I figure it'd be only a short matter of time before we have clothes influenced by Europeans, which at the time will be outdated.

-pre-ripped or super faded jeans

-MLB team hats that aren't even the actual team colors

-guys wearing skin tight jeans

-stickers left on the hats

-pretty much any "flavor of the month" name brands

^^Good grief

That can't be comfortable in warm weather.

All this sh!t is hard to keep up with. I feel sorry for those who try to do so. There's something rather d ouchbaggery (sp?) about always dressing to the latest fashions. It's like people can't think for themselves, or are obsessed with how others perceive them.

EDIT: can't say d ouchebag on here?

Yep. Can't go wrong with a nice shirt and dark jeans. Light jeans kinda look ****ty. Nice shirt, nice pants, nice shoes, ur good to go. Try to copy a trend and you will definitely look like a complete idiot.

ding ding ding ding ding! man, you said it, that sh*t is OUT OF CONTROL, everybody and their brother has these busy-ass t-shirts that are supposed to be high art or fashion and they're just ugly.

all these people wearing Tapout and Affliction gear too, and you know 99% of them have never and will never be in the ring.

Those labels arn't that popular over here in the U.K, True love and false idols, gifted heroes and monarchy are my fav types of t-shirt brands but not many people wear them over here.......................yet:rant

Anyone else notice the trend to tuck the pants into the shoes or go as far as putting rubber bands around the bottom of the leg pants to make them look tight around the bottom? I was disturbed by this....

Americans have pretty terrible fashion sense outside residents of a few major cities. One of the coolest things about walking around my school is the diversity in fashion that I see. Really helped me open my eyes.

I dono about London but the dudes in Brighton all dress like douchebags. Every single one of them.

I had a pair of Uggs but I got them in 96 as a present. I pretty only wore them during the winter (lived in CT at the time) when I was going from my dorm to class. I NEVER tucked my pants into them and have no idea how that became the proper way to wear them.

They were solid as boot/slippers for limited use but as a fashionable piece of clothing? Sorry, you should be kicked in the crotch for that.

I feel the same way about Crocs. If you are using them out by water fine. Everyday use? Get real.
