Differences between American girls and girls from other countries

I've heard Randy talk about this, and I know that we have a large contingent of posters who live overseas. Maybe someone could answer this for me, but what is the mentality/personality/makeup of the average girl/woman who is NOT American? I know that this is extremely broad, but I'm just curious. How do these characteristics I listed compare/contrast?

It seems like many woman around my age (mid 20s), and college age students are very similar. There is a large emphasis on our country on ones appearance, and it seems like a lot of women choose more to focus on that as opposed to developing their personalities. A lot of women are good looking, or even just adequate, w/o trying, but this emphasis in our culture seems to have a negative effect. Noone is ever satisfied with themselves. Just a large degree of shallowness as well. Many are afraid to travel off the "beaten path." Don't see a whole lot of individuality. Come springtime, what are college campuses gonna consist of? Women with ipod head phones on, gym shorts with print on the back, and halter tops. Not that there is ANYTHING wrong with that, but when you CONSTANTLY see the same thing, gets a little old sometimes, eh? It would be nice to see some variety. Of course, us males are a little guilty of conforming as well, but this thread is about women.

Do women overseas conform just as easily? Is there a greater desire on their part to build their character and personality, or is it just as shallow? Does reading and gaining knowledge consist of more than just reading COSMO? I almost feel like I'm stereotyping, and I realize that there are many women here in the U.S. that aren't like this, but sometimes, it's hard to find someone unique.

I have cousins that live in Germany, and they are the nicest girls you will ever meet. A breath of fresh air from this party/diva culture here in the U.S. They can hold down intelligent conversation, and they seem to realize that the universe doesn't revolve around them and their studies/schoolwork, etc.

Someone clear this up for me. What are non-U.S. women TYPICALLY like (and again, I realize that this is an extremely broad topic)

Well, I was visiting Eastern Europe last summer, Greece, Serbia, etc. When you talk to them, their really easy going, their much funnier...Much funnier, but they have some ugly ones and they have some gorgeous ones. Just like anywhere, but, there are no obese women in Serbia or Greece. They live a healthier lifestyle, and they make alot of their own food which is a reason for their healthier living.

At times. A lot of the skirt wearers are those artsy types with frizzy hair who obviously don't bathe. And I fine girls that wear dresses more than jeans are really quiet and generally less fun...but once in a while is alright.

As for the OP. Even in Canada it's different (from my experience). Girls are pretty laid back and fun. Canadians are the nicest people in the world of course.

Already mentioned but american chicks have a tendency to be fat. 2/3 of the american girls i've met are fat or will clearly be fat sooner than later. however the other 1/3 have been gorgeous girls.

And on their personality, overall I've noticed they tend to be a little aggressive. In the "what I say is what matters, I don't need to listen to you" line of thought. Not to say most american girls are this way, but in every "group" of american girls I've met there's at least one who fits this description.

its an odd thing, because most other countries have way less fatties, hence way more beauties.

That being said Orange County has some of the hottest white, Asian and Latina chicks on the planet.

Basically if you live in So Cal or NYC there's a great pool of hot chicks to choose from, but outside that, there are hotties here and there.

Universities have a lot of nice looking girls, but they fade fast, when you go overseas, girls still look 'hot' (and not cougar hot) until they are forty.

an American chick in her thirties is usually a train wreck, unless she is obsessed about being hot.

A majority of women overseas like being women (feminine as Gencbiba referred to, very spot on observation), and try to be hot, sexy and appealing. American women are often too annoying, and as you get older the ratio of fat to thin gets scary nasty.

With that said. I only dated American Black women usually all other chicks were born or raised in another country.

I enjoy the mentality of non US women. Sex and sexuality isnt the same when it comes to non US women. Generally topics of conversation are broader. The gimmie mentality isnt so high for foreign women.

Their are no long skirts here in Japan unless its on a grandmother. Thats not an exaggeration. Short shorts are worn year round. Pants on chicks are not common either. Now most times the lack of TNA for me makes it totally unappealing for them to be wearing those outfits.

After coming back to the states it was really different when I got back to campus. For like a 3 days the girls who I thought were really hot didnt do it for me. From my own personal experiences, European girls aren't afraid to be individualistic while American girls seem terrified to break away from the Ugg boots and oversized sunglasses look. It's as if they think guys won't be attracted to them if they don't dress "hip" and dance up on each other. Go to any college party or bar and 80% of the females there will dressed very similarly. It gets really old really fast.

Euro girls also seem to appreciate the various forms of art much more than Yank dames. The European girls that I know (from England, Poland, Ireland, Switzerland, and Czech Republic) all know great films and can actually discuss them with me. Same goes for music, they aren't limited by what's on TRL and the Billboard 100. How many American girls 19-24 will know who Thin Lizzy is? Probably not very many.

This while "fat American girls" thing is bullsh*t too. Maybe I'm just spoiled living in Colorado but there are fine, fit girls all over the place. Just because America is full of tubby, lazy sweat monsters doesn't mean we all are. Sure there are probably more fat chicks here than elsewhere, but we also have plenty of fit, great looking women.

There are a lot of girls in college like that but there are a lot that aren't like that - and I live in Orange County, CA, a place which that stereotype is amplified to the max. The main difference, the difference that puts the USA's WOMEN ABOVE EVERY OTHER COUNTRY is the diversity. No where else are you gonna have a Native American, an Iranian, a Russian, an African American, a Peruvian, and a Korean sitting in the same room. Everyone adds bits of their culture into the mix which makes us the BEST. Yes cultures are diffused a bit but we also have more to offer. Oh and the mixed-race girls that come out of this diversity > anything else. Have you ever seen a half Asian/half Swede? Or a half Black/half White girl? Or a Puerto Rican/Irish/Japanese girl? Well for one I bet you are just grouping Arabs and Persians as the same group. But that doesn't matter. Yes arab and persian dudes in the US get girls of other races all the time. The thing is though that they, like anyone else, tend to go for their own race more than another race, which is why you usually see a Korean guy with a Korean girl or an Armenian guy with an Armenian girl. Make sense? You're just making a stereotype that non asian girls don't go for Asian guys. Just to make a point regarding randy's post, it also relates a bit to mlh's post aswell.

You say American chicks are all about the Uggz boots and large sunglasses, but I have to say it's pretty similar here in England. Many of the girls walk around with these stupid boots (even in the middle of the summer) and large sunglasses all the time. Always on their phone and always playing their music loud on their phone, but with no ear pieces. Always texting each other in the middle of class.

But, I do have to say that many of these same girls aren't as shallow as you described, though they are shallow. They sure as hell know alot more about the world than how you (Randy/mlh) described American chicks. Now I'm taking about my age range 17/18. But I can see it with the younger girls that they know absolutely nothing beyond what they see on Super Sweet 16, or whatever it is that they watch.

Well, I was visiting Eastern Europe last summer, Greece, Serbia, etc. When you talk to them, their really easy going, their much funnier...Much funnier, but they have some ugly ones and they have some gorgeous ones. Just like anywhere, but, there are no obese women in Serbia or Greece. They live a healthier lifestyle, and they make alot of their own food which is a reason for their healthier living.

We had about 150-200 exhance students at my school, and a fair amount of the asian girls were compelete slappers, didn't really matter what the guy had (And seeing as it was HS, most everyone had nothing.) Above poster is correct that not all asian girls are the same. Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, Korean, etc... all have very different cultures. There are similarities, but don't lump them all together. There are even big differences between Taiwanese and Chinese girls, as well as Tokyo vs Okinawa girls. Asian Americans are a whole nuther deal too. My woman is chinese american and is so much more materialistic and lazy than her parents.
