I know I'll be logging heavy hours for this game and I dont want my system to die again, even though I hear Microsoft paid Take Two for exclusive extra content downloads.

Yeah AC's graphics were phenomenal, but I really disliked the whole fighting thing. You clicked a button, then watched the character perform the move. It just felt like you weren't really in the game.

Ya 1st probably 2 weeks playing the game i thought it was the flyest ish ever, but then after just got toooo repetative and just got boring. I didnt even bother beating the game, thats how gay it got.

My brother almost did, but it glitched so there were two main characters, and if he attacked people, his character would do the exact same, but sometimes he'd get in the way and attack the real character.

The multiplayer mode alone makes this the most anticipated GTA ever. Not only could you chanllenge your college roomates who can get the most stars, but you can hop online and get 5 stars while playing with 16 other people.

IMO the gta franchise ( since gta 3) has consistently produced the best games out of any other franchise by far i have been looking forward to this game since i beat san andreas (about 2.5 years)

I played San Andreas first... Never got to finish it because it caused my old ass second hand XBOX to crash after I got through 25% of the game.

Then I got to play GTA3 and Vice City... I really liked those but I really like SA...it just sucks that I can't finish it because I'm all behind the times with my XBOX and it crashes and...so on.

GTA 4 just received a perfect 10 on IGN, first game to receive a perfect score since 1999 on that site on any console. That is just incredible, this game will be revolutionary in every sense of the word. After reading IGN's review, I had goosebumps...the detail that they present is just not possible.

I mean when there is a car accident, the guy who crashed into the car actually comes out of the car and makes sure the other person isn't hurt. That's absurd.

It's pretty cool. The driving took me a bit to get used to. It's alot harder in the cramped Liberty City. Kinda boring at the moment, but i'm just doing odd jobs and exploring at the moment. I'm waiting for the story to kick in.

I got my GTA4 today. Xbox Live as well. Just gotta hook and set everything up. I think i need an ethernet cord to hook to the xbox360 and the cable router so i can get access to the online thing. I dunno if i got one here, i might I hope.

The map is huge, similar to San Andreas which means I hope the gameplay is long and it takes a long ass time to get from 1 side to the other.

The multi player option is a big reason why this game kicks ass. Previous GTA games you didnt have the online gaming option. Now? You do. Get to create your own character and whup ass. Are you serious at the alternate endings? Damn, didnt read that. Thats gonna be hot! I wonder if you can go back and kill a different person to see a new ending? U should....but i agree, i told my friends who keep texting me to get the online thing hooked up. But this is a game i wanna enjoy for self, so much to do/complete where is the time to play online? Actually, Niko doesn't have to do everything that is asked of him. On several occasions as you play through his story, you'll be presented with decisions that afford you the option of doing what you think is right rather than blindly following instructions. You don't necessarily have to kill a target if he or she promises to disappear, but you have to weigh the risk of your employer finding out against the possibility that the person whose life you spare might prove useful later in the game, or even have work for you in the form of bonus missions. To say anything more specific on this subject would be to risk spoiling one of GTAIV's most interesting new features, but suffice it to say that every decision you make has consequences, and you'll likely want to play through the game at least twice to see how the alternatives unfold.

Here's the best review for this game, it's a video review from gamespot...this will definitely encourage you to buy this game. It's like Gears of War meets GTA meets The SIMS with graphics of Modern Warfare.

Great game. I got it yesterday. I was expecting a great game, but this was just an amazing one. I have yet to get bored, where as in the previous GTAs, I had to bassically hunt for something to do.(IE GTA 3) It's hard to beleive THIS city is supposed to be the same city as the one in GTA 3. Rock* has come a long way with this series. I almost wanted to skip school today to chill and play it. Can't wait to get back home and pick it back up. I won't be practicing ball for a couple days :oldlol:

How's the driving guys? Heard that the E-brake is pretty much useless and you have to take turns slowly.

Driving sucks, no such thing as braking. All you do is skid. You can break hard and somehow slam into someone. Go fast, slow down and try to use the break when making a turn...zilch. So trying to drive forreal is tough. Like manueving a f*cking boat.

Each car varies tho in terms of speed, handle ability.

Driving sucks, no such thing as braking. All you do is skid. You can break hard and somehow slam into someone. Go fast, slow down and try to use the break when making a turn...zilch. So trying to drive forreal is tough. Like manueving a f*cking boat.

Each car varies tho in terms of speed, handle ability.

its a temp fix. I tried it and it worked for 1-2 weeks and the red rings came back. Just call and send it back.

I wish I could freaking play it online for the ps3, but I'm still having tons of problems. I tried Turf Wars and a couple races for the 360 version at a friend's house, and now I'm regretting getting a ps3. Pretty ironic that I bought a ps3 to avoid hardware issues(or atleast it had a part in me buying a ps3 instead of 360), and then this problem comes up.

I guess the single player is good enough though. I've played the game for a good 7-8 hours, and I've only completed 12%.

By the end of it, I'd probably give it a 10 and will probably surpass San Andreas.
The graphics, the story looks flawless...when I roam around the city for some reason I don't have as many things to do, but I'm sure it'll pick up as the story progresses.

The cell phone was a genius idea though.

The begginning missions are basically teaching you the new controls for the game. How to aim, throw, various places and so forth. How to even use cabs instead of driving for days...hop in and go to your destinations. It is slow early on, but trust me when I tell you. That is for your own benefit. So practice and learn how to control the game because you will be OVERWHELMED with missions, side missions, lil bs tasks/jobs, having to keep up with the internet because you get emails that you need to check/reply too (which also opens up other things) and hanging out with friends. Little Jacob you can bowl, play darts, drink, eat, pool or do a job for him. Thats just 1 friend.

You're gonna be getting text msgs out the ass and might forget to read and/or respond to them. You're gonna be at a point where you simple will feel swamped with stuff to do and you wont know how to manage your time and please everyone or who to please, who to neglect etc etc.

There are missions where at the begginning of the game if you dont practice/pay attention to the controls? You're gonna be attempting it a lot. Something simple as riding a bike and how to control it while trying to shoot moving targets. Only the moving targets are weaving in and out of traffic making cars/buses, trucks ahead of you swerve in your path. You run into them? You're flying off the bike...and if you're health is down? You could die from flying off your bike or getting hit by a speeding SUV. And if you dont die (like i said it depends on ur health say u were in a previous mission getting lit up and didnt replenish ur health) the guy gets away and u start ur mission over. When u start it over u get a text to restart and sometimes you'll get an incoming phone call from someone wanting to hang, ur girlfriend wanting to go out or another mission. :oldlol:

It starts off slow/kinda boring, but believe me it will pick up. San Andreas was great but you were never overwhelemed with so much to do like GTA4. You had a chance to relax/breathe and just BS around the city which was fun. Also you'll be getting into those missions where u have to make a choice. Apart of that alternative ending GTA4 has. You might wanna save it seperately jus in case u wanna try it a diff way. I dunno. I saved all my stuff (60% thus far) on 1 save. So i gotta do the whole game over if i wanna see diff or the right way to choose/pick. I'm gonna do it, game has replay value out the ass. :rockon:

It'll pick up a lot. I wonder if you can get a new cell phone? There are options on ur cell phone? Also you know you can change your ring tones right? Play with the phone options a bit and u'll see an option for all that. I didnt get a chance too. Do it later.

I'm also stuck on Packie's mission, where I have to rob a bank. I tryed to run down the alley at the side of the bank, where there was a cop car, but surrouned by cops, I tried to get into it, but got killed straight away. Sh!t is pissing me off.

You get 7 grenades...when you run down the alley and see the cop car? Dont hop in it. Take a grenade, toss it towards the cop car...then run for cover. Cop car will blow up, you and packie/other guy will kill any cops and advance forward. At the end of the alley way on your left and right cop cars and cops. Kill the cop at the dumpster, then take a grenade and throw it at the cop car on your left. Run for cover....cop car blows up, another path is cleared. You 3 start running....just keep running. There will be a big street with cops/cars in both direction. I ignore those and keep running. You'll hit another street where cop cars and SWAT van block the street....throw a grenade at the cop car to your right (thats the street u eventually run down)....take cover. And kill any SWAT/cops coming towards you. When you clear that car away you will run down the street. Be careful there are cops on the 2nd floor of buildings (fire escape)...you get into a gun fight...kill them and run straight ahead (follow packie). Dont worry about the cop cars or anything....just haul ass and then you'll be taken to another scene where you run down the subway to get away. Down the subway all you do is gun fights. Kill the guys so they wont shoot/kill you and advance. You'll come to a point where you jump down tracks...when you do? Just keep running to the yellow marker...dont worry about the cops behind you...they wont follow/chase. They just shoot so run to that yellow marker, then run up the flight of steps to the next yellow marker (which will be the street). Soon as you hit the street (dont worry packie and dude are behind you)...find a car. There should be one parked. Hop in and lose your warning level. :oldlol: Tough but not hard.

The key when you're running in the tunnel is soon as you hit that yellow marker? Speed up the steps to the street. Faster u go the better chance u have a head start on cops. If you go slow, BS, or even go the wrong way (really no wrong way, just go up the steps and up and up) cops will arrive and you gotta shoot out/find a car. The faster you get to the street? Easier you can speed off and lose the warning level.

What i did? Soon as i got in the car. I press START, found a body garage and placed the red marker on it. Then followed the green path leading me to the body garage...that way you can get in there, they spray paint your car and warning level gone. Trying to out speed them is gonna be tough and you havent met Kiki who can LOSE your cop warning level up to 3 stars.

Good thing i have another save...i kept another save to do the game different. There is an option for Dimitri or the money. I did Dimitri so i had this save to do the "Take the money" mission.

If you choose the money? During the wedding Roman gets killed. If you kill Dimitri? Roman doesnt get killed but Kate (Packie sister) does. Thus u seek revenge on the Pegalmaro mob guy who put out that hit because he feels u double crossed him with the diamonds. When u kill him there is no option

The Holland Nights, is a mission for the cop guy, can't remember his name now. But, you have to go to the appartment buildings and kill some drug dealer, problem is, the place is absolutely surrounded by the drug dealer's henchmen.

Is it the projects? I think thats it....patience is key...use the cover system. Use the option where u press RB where it has you press up against a wall, then press the aim buttom. You'll automatically lock onto the bad guy around the corner. Keep advancing to the top...i usually crotch down and slow walk it up the steps holding the aim button so it'll lock on the first bad guy in my sights.

You gotta go to the top of the roof then you decide to kill or let dude live. The hard part is going back down...again more patience. Its tough because once u get to the top, you gotta go back down where cops are waiting.

Thats why dating Kiki might be helpful to lower ur wanted level.

I think this is the mission. I know there is another where you're in a building with bad guys. This is a hotel tho.

I was also pissed that they didn't have the businesses from Vice City Stories. Yo GOBB, I sold my 360 and I was at 30% complete. I am waiting for my PS3 to come as I pre-ordered it for June 13th, with MGS.

I stopped playing after I chased that russian guy, who wouldn't get out of the car so I threw some grenades at the car and killed him. It's where I had to use the laptop to read his email to know his whereabouts.

So I reached the very last mission once ago, which is an absolute breeze until the helicopter part because apparently I'm helicopter retarded. Anyways, once I beat the game what are the side mission things I can do?

I know some of them:

Pigeons
Brucie's Cars
Jacobs Drug Deals
Random Serial Killer in the Street

What are the other ones? (I wish they'd done those business like in Vice City.:hammerhead:)

For downloadable content I predict/hope that addition includes somehow doing missions to start that closed down amusement park back up. Like the way they did businesses in Vice City. It seems weird that they'd mention it like they did and not do anything with it. Then again, maybe that was just to make the city feel like a living, breathing area. Anyways, that's my prediction/hope.

I've gotten all the achievements except two - "Auf Wiedersehen Petrovic" and wanted. I need $1.500.000 more to get wanted (level 10) and I'll get it sooner ot later, but that other one is the most ridiculous achievement I ever saw in an Xbox game after completing Smash T.V. without using any continues.

I won't go for it, and as far as I'm concerned it doesn't exist. I doubt that anyone who has it has gotten it honest and legit.

Its hard enough to beat the first level without any continues, but I love that damned game. A few of those live arcade titles have some insanely difficult achievements though.

I agree. It got overrated by critics and people started hating on it, making it seem a lot worse than it was. I thought it was bo$$ though.

Bump just to say this is still my favorite GTA. GTA V is amazing, but I just loved GTA IV's story. It seemed to have more memorable characters, too. Just my opinion, though.

What are the rewards for 100%?

I cant even remember outside of the achievement. You got to remember I was a big achievement whore back then. Still am, not as much as I was before. I only missed 4 achievements in GTA 4.
