Anyway 2 of the 6 girls that were beating her went over to the victims house and pounded her head against the wall knocking her un-conscious and then they drove her to another house were the video takes place.

The tutsis (the Rwandan ethnic group on the wrong side of the genocide incase you didn't know flocked to the school for protection. The school was surrounded by Hutu shouting chants of how they were going to butcher the Tutsi. It was three days before the UN troop and all Europeans were evacuated. The UN left the tutsis to be slaughtered, because it was their job to observe and they didn't get any orders to put down the genocide. Explain that.

You could really go on and on forever with cases where somebody got off far too easy, or got excessively punished and question how much the motive had to do with race or social status or sex or religion or some mitigating factor.

Most folks are under the impression (mistaken) that we have a 'Fight' or 'Flight' response to threats,but that's only to threats of a NON-HUMAN variety. When other human beings are the threat, our response is a little larger.....'FIGHT', 'FLIGHT', 'POSTURE' and 'SUBMIT'.

We all like to imagine we would fight back (and some of us would) but 'Submission' is a common response.

The UN was made on the doctrine that another holocaust would never happen again. In Rwanda while the genocide over there was going on, UN officials went out of their way not to use the word genocide, the referred to it as tragic violence, or something like that, and when asked by reporters directly if they thought the situation in Rwanda was a genocide they said no. So yes you are right maybe race has nothing to do with it.

Chechnya in my opinion is way too small a situation aren't there under 200k people there?
