Rappers have always been given their own shoes, some with a lot less accomplishments than Kanye. What did Pharrell do to deserve Ice Creams? All they are are Japan-styles brought to the US.

There are even basketball players who are less successful than Kanye that got their own shoes. Penny Hardaway? I love him and his shoes to death but in no way was he ever as big as Kanye. Vince Carter?

If they have appeal, they'll sell. This thread is evident of that. That's what it's about selling and profit. Nike could care less about their branding image as long as they're focused on the profit line. Just look at retros. They're out of control now but they're making a tone of money.
