Well the Raps have already lost this series, but they can at least make themselves look respectable by winning both home games. Trouble is that Orlando is actually a good road team, so this will once again be a tough one.

Final score, Raps 101-95.

If TJ Ford starts I am driving down to Toronto and doing something drastic.

Starters Smitch needs to avoid a sack'o doornobs beating

PG: Calderon
SG: Parker
SF: Kapono
PF: Bosh
C: Rasho

Anything but this will condem me to several years in prison.

this is a good starting lineup for us. If this doesn't work and orlando starts off hot again, god help us all. We have nothing to look forward to...who will come off the bench for us and help us? ford, bargnani?

i swear, they need to stop taking all those 3 pointers on every freakign possession....someone should take a gun and everytime moon goes for a 3, shoot him until he learns his lesson or dies. seriously.

I agree. Moon should never take any jump shots, period. Delfino should only shoot 3s if he makes his first attempt. Kapono can do whatever the **** he wants because he's ****ing money. Bargs, like Delf, should only shoot if he hits his first one. Calderon also gets a license to shoot whatever he wants.

Moon instead of kapono at starter just for rebounding purposes, and leave kapono as he is coming off the bench.

Seems like so long since the Raptors were at home. Think Bargnani will play well, irrational but whatever... Gonna suck if Rasho doesn't start, Bosh's gonna have a heart attack playing 40+ minutes while guarding Howard.

Could they be giving this series any less attention? "nobody cares, give this series to NBA TV" seems to be the consensus. the sunday game was on ESPN i believe but it was at 9 AM here. I thought this looked like a competitive series and may still prove to be but they certainly must not see it as marketable from a national broadcast standpoint.

*********************
TORONTO (AP) -- With his team facing a 2-0 series deficit, Raptors coach Sam Mitchell knows something has to change. Exactly who that change involves, Mitchell isn't saying.

The Raptors have lost by double-digit deficits in the first quarter of both playoff games so far against the Orlando Magic. Toronto came back and had a chance to win Game 2, but All-Star forward Chris Bosh's last-second jumper bounced off the front rim, sealing Orlando's 104-103 victory.

"We have to top digging holes for ourselves in the first quarter, first and foremost," Bosh said Wednesday. "That's the major issue right now."

With that in mind, Mitchell plans to send out a new-look starting five for Game 3 Thursday night.

"I'm not going to divulge the lineup changes, but we are going to make some little tweaks," Mitchell said. "We've lost the first two so you've got to do something. You've got to do something to try and avoid those starts."

Bosh said Mitchell has yet to share his lineup intentions with the players.

"Usually we just talk about that on game day," Bosh said. "I really don't know what's going through his mind."

Even if Mitchell won't say, the numbers indicate that center Rasho Nesterovic could find himself benched Thursday in favor of Jason Kapono. Nesterovic started but played only five minutes in Orlando's Game 2 win, while Kapono came off the bench to score 20 points.

Kapono had 18 points in Game 1, which Orlando won 114-100, and has made eight 3-pointers in the series so far.

"If the starts were different, the series might be different right now," Mitchell said. "As a coach you've got to look at things and you can't be afraid to try things."

Mitchell made no secret of his desire to shake things up after Game 2, and Magic coach Stan Van Gundy said he expects Toronto to go small after starting Bosh, Nesterovic and fellow seven-footer Andrea Bargnani in the first two games.

"I'd be very surprised if we saw them start the three big guys in Toronto," Van Gundy said after Tuesday's game. "I always tell you guys nothing in the NBA surprises me. That would surprise me."

Another tweak could involve guard T.J. Ford, who has scored 11 total points and shot 2-for-17 from the field.

"It's the playoffs, you don't want to struggle but the reality is, I am struggling," Ford said. "I've just got to find a way to get through it."

Mitchell told a Toronto radio station Wednesday that Ford will keep his starting job for Game 3, but was coy when asked to confirm that after practice.

"Anything I said on that show, I would take with a bag of salt, not a grain," Mitchell said.

Backup Jose Calderon, who started 24 games after Ford was sidelined by arm pain following a Dec. 11 fall in Atlanta, played the entire fourth quarter of Game 2 and finished with 18 points.

"Whatever they want to do that they feel is necessary for us to win," Ford said. "There's nothing I can do about it. I'm all for it."

No matter who plays, the Raptors will continue to struggle if they can't contain Orlando's Dwight Howard, who had 29 points and 20 rebounds Tuesday, becoming the first player with consecutive playoff games of 20 points and 20 rebounds since Kevin Garnett in 2004.

"He's on his way to being a guy who we talk about 30 years down the line," Orlando guard Keyon Dooling said Tuesday. "He's awesome on both ends of the floor, and he's kind of our backbone. He was tremendous on the defensive end, on the glass and offensively."

**********

I expect big things out of TJ Ford tonight.

There is a point when coach loyalty, niceness, building chemistry, blah blah has to take a back seat to winning at all costs.

Smitch better play Calderon. Ford has to suck it up, smile and cheer as he sits on the bench. Raps lose with Ford, they win with Calderon. A fact all season long.

Calderon needs to play 40 minutes in this Raptor win. Ford can start the 2nd and 4th quarters, but only if he has been a good puppy.

Ford will start its already comfired. Mitchell said its not the starting problem he just has to play hard and agressive. Im not so sure about the otherl ineup, but tj will be starting for sure.. unless he changes it quick time before tip off

I read that too. Quite down about that. Its the weak status quo approach. I think the time for calm is over. Raptors need fire under their feet.

I'm so glad I got out of work early tonight.

- The key to that huge half for the Raptors was Jamario Moon. He was everywhere and doing everything. I still can't believe he didn't start game 1. It was a crime to take the minutes away from him after a solid season and glad to see he's got them back.

- Great half from Ford too. Playing aggressive and taking his good looks from mid-range right away rather than hesitating and resorting to those fadeaways he tooks in the first 2 games. His defense has been solid since game 1 as well.

- I like the aggressive D on Howard. The Raptors are getting their hands in there for steals and double teaming hard. It's what needs to be done with him.

Newsflash Toronto fans: You're fanbase represents an entire nation, Orlando's is a small town in Central Florida. You should have a better atmosphere.

Just in case you didn't know, there is a LARGE anti-Toronto sentiment throughout Canada, particularly in Western Canada. The fact is that the Raps get little-to-no play outside of Southwestern Ontario. They're working to change that, but facts are facts.

Also, you can't fit all of Canada inside the ACC, so I don't see how it should matter they're the only team... :)

Good win but the Raptors definitely still MUST win game 4.

- Great game for Jamario Moon. He owned the 1st half and showed how big of a blunder it was to not start him in game 1.

- Ford had his first good all around game this series. Played incredibly well on offense and did much better on D than in game 1.

- Calderon had a fantastic offensive game. He got torched badly by dribble penetration nearly every time but his offense more than made up for that this time. The way he played today and in the 2nd half of game 2 is the way he should play all the time. Aggressive, aggressive and more aggressive. Love it when he plays like this.

- Bosh was off. You could see he was frustrated when he resorted to shooting 3's. The Raptors don't need that out of him. If he is constantly getting doubled teamed (like he has been and like he was last year vs NJ) then just take what they give you. He was passing really well out of those double teams so just keep going with that until the other teams stops doing it. Bosh is a solid passer so there is no need to chuck up those 3's.

- Carlos Delfino annoys the hell out of me. The only reason he had a reputation of good defense is because he played for Detroit. He sucks on D. All you get is mindless aggression on D which leads to overplaying a side or hand check fouls.

- Strange sight to see JJ "Mini-Bargnani" Redick get into a playoff game.

stop hating too much on ford. He was really really good in today's game and helped the raps get that big lead going into the half and into the 4th quarter. Both of our pg's did an amazing job and they need to continue to do this the entire series. They were our biggest assets and they showed it in today's game.

some other thoughts on today's game: Kapono is just incredible. Where was this guy the entire season? He is just amazing and is so damn quick. He doesn't even need complete possession of the ball before he shoots that 3.

Jamario Moon finally did what everyone was asking of him. His D was really good and was a big factor on the raps getting that early lead.

The raps again almost fell in love with that 3 pointer. I am glad Sam was able to knock some sense and make the right substitutions when it mattered and made them drive. Whats up with Bosh now going for the 3's? he was what? 0/3 at the 3 point line today? Why is this guy going for repeated 3's? or is he getting jealous of kapono or soemthing?

Orlando will be back in the next game and with a game plan. Raps should not get too happy and go easy now. They need to protect the 1st quarter and get it going early into the next game. Pg's need to remain hot and Bosh will needs to get better stats in the next game. Dwight will be back and so will hedo.

stop hating too much on ford.

Don't count on that. Ford is the most hated player on the Raptors and even if he plays great, you will still hear people hate on him.

If anybody is complaining about the refs, please STFU. It was horribly officiated for both teams. So please don't ***** and moan about them.

The Raptors backcourt is the key for this team. If they play like they did tonight, then the Raptors have a chance at winning this series. However, if they play like they did in the first two games, they don't have much of a shot. The Raptors need both of them if they want to win. Ford and Calderon are the difference makers for the Raptors and if they do manage to win this series, it will be because of those two.

Man, If Nelson is out for the series, Orlando loses, straight up. Arroyo got raped during his time on the floor. I don't care what Howard does, they need Nelson back.

Here's hoping for a lengthy recovery.

Newsflash Toronto fans: You're fanbase represents an entire nation, Orlando's is a small town in Central Florida. You should have a better atmosphere.

are you trying to say that people from all over the country would fly to Toronto to watch the game? Or are you just one of those americans that think Canada only has one city?

TJ has to start, or he will sulk and put up crazy shots

Because Ford cries if he doesn't start and ruins the team chemistry. Jose gave up his starting spot so Ford would stop whining.

You both suck, TJ Ford was the reason we got off to such a great start today, he's not a team cancer, a team cancer doesn't lead his team to the playoffs every year of his NBA career. A cancer doesn't lead the University of Texas to the final four.

He's a winner, he's talented and we need him to be a big time player if we're going to win this series. I don't understand why everyone has to love one and hate the other, appreciate and love our current situation because it's a massive luxury. Less we forget the days of Rafer Alston and patchwork point guards leading our team to the lottery.

Jose Calderon is passive but is a dynamite shooter, very steady and is great off the bench. Personally, I believe that Ford is better for this team - aggressive, sometimes to a fault, but an excellent play maker who gets easy shots for a supporting cast which outside of Chris Bosh, struggles to create it's own offense. It doesn't mean that because I feel Ford is better, that I should hate on Calderon, love and enjoy them both, because they won't be here together for much longer.

And for what it's worth, they'll likely re-sign Calderon and trade him during the season next year, Ford won't have the value that the Raptors need in order to acquire a big name swing player due to his injuries, so they'll use Calderon and his booming value to get it.

We need to win Game 4, let's hope both Calderon and Ford are on their games and leading us like they did tonight - rooting for failure of one or the other just seems poor as fans of the team, we're at our best when both of them are at their best, we need them BOTH at the moment.

Sure just ignore the other posts where I praised the way TJ played today. He was amazing today, no doubt. The Orlando fans asked why Calderon doesn't start, so I was just being honest.

You can't deny TJ was hurting the team chemistry towards the end of the season when he was coming off the bench. He's only starting now because of Calderon. TJ hasn't been the same consistently since his injury. If he could play the way he did tonight more often, then it's hard to justify him getting traded.

There's no way Calderon's getting traded. NO WAY.

In general, I was referencing all Raptors fans who hate on TJ Ford when he's a major asset to our team.

I don't think he ever hurt team chemistry, he wasn't playing well, and it was causing us to lose some games because we need him at his best, but he wasn't a "cancer" like everyone seems to think. He should be the starter, it's his job, injury shouldn't take that away from him.

And I'd be willing to bet Calderon gets traded over Ford, it's all about the value.

For instance, you could probably agree that either Ford or Calderon is capable of leading this team.

TJ Ford has injury concerns, Jose Calderon has none.
TJ Ford is coming off a subpar season, Jose Calderon is coming off a breakthrough season.
Jose Calderon is a free agent who will likely sign a contact that is cheaper then TJ Fords.

All signs point to Calderon having much more trade value, the Raptors need an impact player at the wing, they won't be able to get that by keeping Calderon, so they'll accept the injury risk that accompanies Ford in order to get the increased trade value that a player like Calderon currently has.

It's not whether or not they like one more then the other, it all comes down to value and what they can back, they need back alot, so they need to move the guy which can currently fetch alot, Jose Calderon.

But don't forget, it would be easier trading Ford than Calderon. TJ is under contract, and Calderon may won't accept a sign-and-trade if he doesn't like the team where you want send him.

And, if you want my opinion, we are dealing with people, Calderon is an unselfish guy who had given everything to his team; I really think it would be very, very unfair trading him (despite being an stupid move, in my opinion).
