Why? Plane of passengers on a plane with snakes attacking them. How realistic. This is like the movie Anaconda and other snake movies where humans travel to the jungle and end up being stalked by a killer snake.

I went and saw it last night. It was ridiculous. The crowd was going nuts. My friend brought a bunch of rubbersnakes and threw them all over the place and screamed, "SNAKES IN A MOVIE THEATRE!" and would start chanting "USA!" whenever anything amazingly corny happened in the movie.

The movie is like an F, but the experience is an A+!

Man if you go to see this movie to be a realistic depiction of the horrors of airplane transportation via snakes, then you got problems. You go to this movie with a bunch of friends to see Sam L Jackson on a motha****in plane with motha****in snakes. for bad movie conneseurs such as myself this is heaven.

This could be the movie version of "My Chain" by Gucci Mane. something that's so bad that it's awesome and you can't stop listening to / watching it.

the clip I saw of the movie was funny.....Sam L Jackson going bonkers...

"Enough is Enough.....Im tired of all these MUTHAF*KING snakes!!"

but the movie will prolly be ass....it doesnt seem to realistic...they better have a good reason as to how those snakes got there and why they are attackin

So waste $9 to see a movie just to laugh at it? :confusedshrug:

I'll pass. I've never went to a movie i thought would be wack, garbage and psyched myself out like that.

"Noooo, sure its not realistic but think of it this way. Snakes attacking people on a plane and Samuel L Jackson cursing his ass off! Come on!"

I'm going to see crossover so i can laugh at how bad the acting will be. How crossovers, taunting, chicks cheerleading are cool. I wanna laugh so bad at how the underdogs come up with a gameplan to stop the popular guy (HotSauce). Worth the time and money. I'm in the mood to laugh dammnit. :violin:

Movie was great.

Everything I want in a horror experience.

The crowd was raucous, the killing scenes were great. Snakes chomping on *****, ******s, eating dogs, it was great.

Everyone kept on making hissing snake noises, it was a great time.

I reccommend it to anyone who wants to have a fun time at the theatre.
-----

It really wasn't that bad, it wasn't so bad it's funny for the most part. A couple times you feel that, like when they do Snake Vision, but for the most part it's people getting ****ed up by snakes that makes it good.

And Samuel doesnt' really cuss that much.

I went to go see the sneak preview. And I was expecting to leave mad. But I always said if they try to mix comedy in with it, it would be great. And it was a very very good movie. People in the theater were going crazy. We were throwing fake snakes in the air when Jackson said his soon to be famous line. And the snakes had us jumping too. Me and my friends were just screaming out **** the entire time, my girlfriend even got in on it, blurting out Kenan deserves an Orange Soda. Don't buy the DVD when it comes out, it will only be good in the movie theater with a bunch of crazy people.

Samuel L has one bad movie then a good one. After The Man and Freedom Land, this one made up for those pieces of sh*t.

PS: When the snake guy runs out of his trailer home, it so reminded me of Reno 911 that I laughed myself to cramps

I dont think you get it. You're supporting a crap movie for a bogus reason. Good job you'll be responsible for this movie scoring nice at the box office. Cant wait to see how much this joke of a movie grosses. While you and the others are at it? Make sure you go to Sam Goody and load up on bad music. For comedic purposes. So bad artists can sell records and we sit and wonder why/how.

You dudes supporting this only gives idiots more reasons to produce crap films and get them picked up. "Hey if snakes sold a good number, I'd like to think me talkin elephants can too.". You guys sound brainwashed.

Nobody puts together an intentionally bad album. It's just not the same, regardless. You need to be able to see ****.

The people who put this movie together aren't "bad artists". It was done that way INTENTIONALLY. Why is this so hard to grasp?

If you don't like making fun of movies with people and making sarcastic remarks the whole way through and laughing at the absurdity of it all, then it's not for you. Now go back into your hole *****.

And to anyone who likes SOAP, I highly recommend picking up a copy of Dawn of the Dead (2004 or 2005, whenever it was). That movie was pure badass and I saw it in theaters. Pure greatness. Better than SOAP.

GOBB its called a tounge in cheek send up. the flick is like those 80's action movies that were completely rediculous.

as long as it doesnt take itself seroiusly, whats the problem?

what the hell movies even are realistic anyways? Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Beverly Hills Cop, Ghostbusters, Leathal Weapon, Indiana Jones etc etc etc were all insanley unrealistic.

the whole point of watching it is in the theater with other people who enjoy this kinda thing. In the end as long as people had fun $9 ain't so bad.

Besides its not like the movie itself is trying to promote itself as serious. They're pretty much marketing it towards their audience. Anyone who's not into this kinda of movie would have to be stupid to accidently watch it and "waste" $9.

SixerFan03

You do have a good point about waiting. If I rent the movie or wait for it to come on Cable (Comcast On Demand), I can leave the room or fast forward during the stupidest parts without having to pay anything. In a movie theater, I pretty much have to watch the whole thing or walk out.

But I do want to see if it is bad.

Do you have any proof that snakes messing up a plane cannot happen? It's the same question you asked just phrased differently. Both are not likely to happen, yet you seem to think that watching a movie for the "realness" effect only applies to movies you dislike. What about Gladiator? None of the history actually went down that way, yet it won best movie. What about Collateral? Is their proof that hit men go recruiting taxi drivers to do their bidding? How real is that? I find it also strikingly odd and humurous that you say "Get real" and then defend the authenticity of aliens with high brain capacity.

Snakes messing up a plane? You sound like a babbling idiot. Every movie doesnt have to be "real" but a realism, reality factor plays a part in movies like this. This is Deep Blue Sea only with Snakes in a sky. Ridiculous, retarded and moronic. Its odd and humorous your dumbass is defending this garbage movie. Maybe its because you're prematurely offended for going to give a theatre $9 to see it? Oh wait its not just the see it factor, its to bond with a bunch of strangers as each one has thier witty punchline to throw during the course of the movie. Its almost a battle to see who can make the most movie goers laugh. Phuck outta here.

Snakes on a plane and Sam L Jackson cursing his ass off shooting a gun saying "Enough is enough" is very interesting. Are you kidding me? This is a bad movie and you're defending it. Comedy.

If you'd rather go see that bullsh*t basketball movie rather than this, then you have no room to talk. The only way I'd go see that is if they rename it "****** Hustlin on a Court".

I am starting to dislike Colbert interviews because he ruined one I was interested in. He was talking to some comic book guy about the new Marvel series "civil war" and would rarely even let the guy finish a sentence. He would mock the guy and basically let no information about the series out from the dude's mouth.

And why do they say the Colbert Reporr? What did I miss?

Colbert's interviews suck. But know that he's acting. If you've watched Hannity or O'Reilly, they never let anybody finish their sentences, and all they do is mock everything they say and act like a total ass hole. And that's what Colbert does. So don't go into a Colbert Report interview expecting interesting information.

He leaves the actual information interviews to Stewart and his interviews are just to show how a right-wing, conceited talk show host would react to a certain person.

And he says "Reporr" to play off the t being silent in his name also.

You aren't spending 10 dollars to be entertained... you are paying 10 dollars to sit in a dark theater with a smug grin plastered across your face: "God, I am being so ironic right now... wait until I tell my friends (or it some cases, 'my board') how ironic I am."

Well worth it for some.

You can watch the interview of Sam L Jackson and John Stewart on youtube. I saw it there and couldnt stop laughing. Too bad it wasnt long.

How Stella Got her Groove Back.

U, Me and Dupree

All of the Star Wars movies

And if they'd have named Jurassic Park, "Steven Spielbergs: Real Looking Dinosaurs eating people" It would've made 10 Million more dollars. Book it.

STar Wars movies werent bad at all. I didnt like the first two attack of the clones I & II (look i dont know thier names) but return of the jedi, empire strikes back and even the last movie where u saw how darth vader became darth vader (the ending how he was put together) were tight.

I admit i went to see star wars with that red/black character. Forgot his name but he was a villain all hyped up and lasted like 15 seconds in the movie getting sliced in half. That movie was long and stunk ass.

Jurrassic park was a book. So regardless of name title many people went to see it because the book was good. You cant use movies where a book came out and was made into a movie.

Exactly, all movies that say whats going on in the movie are usually good.

If When a Stranger Calls had been renamed "When a Stranger Calls while Watching You" it would've some how found a way to be better

I think this movie gets good reviews because people know its a crap movie but make the most out of it. Itys a dumb movie so they laugh and enjoy dumb things that happen. Also the infleunce factor is huge. Seems everyone who speaks of this movie talks about the reactions and comments made during the movie. Thus a good review.

Dude I just got back from seeing it.

It was absolutely awesome.

First of all, Sam L Jackson's profanities weren't quite as frequent as I might have hoped. However the film did introduce several extra characters that are very much corny and funny so they weren't stealing camera time from him for nothing. And the lack of profanities over the middle of the movie just keep us anticipating the punchline "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. I HAVE HAD IT WITH THESE MOTHAPHUCKIN SNAKES ON THIS MOTHAPHUCKIN PLANE" and when it hits everyone went WILD.

I heard the Thursday screening was way better, and I wish I could have gone, but I had just gotten back from vacation and I had to help my parents unpack and I just couldn't make it. But friday night was pretty great. Sadly though, not a lot of my friends would go. I ended up going with 4 other people and almost wound up not going at all (my friend had just sprained his ankle pretty badly playing bball 2 hours prior and almost didn't go but in the end he went anyway... just shows how compelling internet hype can be) but I did and it was worth it. It was so great. Wow. It was way better than what I was expecting.

I was just going for Sam Jackson profanities, irony and corniness but I PROMISE you who haven't seen it that it was WAY MORE THAN THAT. First of all there are ****. breasts. first 15 minutes of this movie is damn near a porno. second of all there are CREATIVE DEATHS. it was kind of like the Final Destination series, with snakes biting people in the darndest of places. and third of all there are several very funny side characters which I was not expecting. and also, there is some of the most laughably bad acting I have ever seen (the guy Sam was trying to protect was horrible).

but mostly you're going for the puncline, and for the atmosphere and you most definitely get it.

Oh and Gobb they did develop an explanation for why the snakes were killing people. so it's not just random. there is a "reason" even if it wouldn't actually make the snakes go on a murder spree, it's not as completely impossible as it should be.

boxofficemojo.com is projecting a little over 6 mil for Friday... but I think it will be higher. too much hype. I don't think they're taking it into account... plus Thursday night's sales.

Anyway I'm sure this will top 30 mil opening weekend. If Saw 2 can, this thing can. But we know how great I am at predicting box office sales. Clerks wasn't even top 5 and I was saying it would be #1. uhhh..

Comedy.

No, you're the one not making any sense. The fact that you're taking this movie seriously is what is "retarded" and "moronic". The fact that you look at this and expect to gain any educational or emotional value is "retarded" and "moronic." This movie was a plot to make money purely based on the comedy it gives. I couldn't give a ****, but obviously it is working cause people are going to see it in theatres and shelling out money to see it. I haven't paid to see a movie in nearly 3 years because I hate popcorn and the smell of it. I prefer to wait and rent it. So I haven't seen this, but from a marketing perspective the movie's plan was flawless. Anyway you look at it. They marketed the name and Jackson, which obviously would starta cult following. The scene where Jackson goes "enough is enough, I'm tired of these mother****ing snakes on this mother****ing plane" was added because of the FANS. It wasn't in there to begin with. They added it cause the cult following wanted it in the movie.

What you're doing doesn't make sense. You're trying to say it's a bad movie. Ofcourse it is. But the fact that the movie makers and Jackson do not hide it as a bad movie is what makes it entertaining to people. They're not saying its a real movie. And by what my roommates say (they went to watch it last night) it was sarcastic comedy from the beginning to the end. So, what is the point of your arguement when you didn't even see it?

geeWiz15

I got in cause most of my friends are 17 and they just bought me a ticket. My theater is arranged so that you buy the tickets outside, and then there's a little lobby when you walk in, and as you walk in you're looking at the snacks vendor with half the theaters in a hallway to the left and half the theaters in a hallway to the right. In order to get past the lobby to the snacks and access to all the theaters you have to give a guy your ticket and he tells you where to go. So basically one ticket and you're home free for the rest of the day and can go to any movie you want, there's nothing stopping you. Great setup. Once in awhile I just buy one ticket early in the morning on a weekend and spend the entire day at the theater by myself watching movies.

Hawker
08-20-2006, 03:18 PM
wow thats tite geewiz. this is how my theater is. Buy tickets outside of the actual theater then walk into the lobby. get ur ticket stub and 4 movies right in front of you.
