It was definitely the '04-'05 or '05-'6 season. Certainly not 2001. Apologies to mjbulls23. :D

Yes, but they renewed the focus on it and made it even more stringent during the '05 or '06 season. That's why people always talk about the "new perimeter defense rules" and how every star perimeter player had banner years in '06. It was a parade to the line that year because of the new enforcement.

ya I was just referring to when it was actually changed in the rule book, not as much as when it went into effect

Bring Back these rule. I don't want to see undersized combo guards like Rose and Ellis averaged over 24 ppg because they greatly benefited from the post hand checking rule.

The no-hand check rule, the rule where the defender has to be within an arm's length, and the no defensive 3 seconds rule are all ridiculous rules and they are destroying the NBA.

To me those rules are even worse than the crooked refs and Stern are.

Agreed. It's almost imposible to stop a player as fast as D-Rose without hand-check. The rule has to be back.

That's why Deron Williams sucked in the Turkish League. Bring Back these F*cking Rule, and let's see how these combo guards adjust in this rule.

Even Tony Parker adjusted in the rule while playing for his national team. Although his percentages were lower compared to the NBA. 51.9 FG% top 45.6 FG% in the Eurobasket.
