They're not like every other rap group out there. They're much better than most. A lot of groups/rappers just do the 'money, drugs, hoes' thing while they don't. They have production, flow, beat, lyrics, etc. while many rappers are lacking in some/many areas. They're rather influential, as well, and not in a crappy way like Lil Wayne.

They are overrated rappers, and some of them are out and out terrible. RZA and Chef I am looking at you. The secret messages in their music is often cited as to why they are so great, but cats who are really up on the "knowledge" they supposedly spit find their interpretations of it to be lacking. They are a hodgepodge of gimmicky rappers.

Charlie Parker's tone and flow were his greatness. RZA's tone and flow is a liability. His inability to free-style proves my points. He has a good vocab, his lyrics read great on paper, but he lacks the flow to competently pull them off. When it is RZA's turn to flow on a Wu posse cut the track bogs down, and he ****s it up. He is like the Wu's Michelle Williams(Destiny's Child).

From that post I gather you have reading comprehension problems. Yes, I know they have songs like Wu-wear: The Garment Renaissance, C.R.E.A.M., Ice Cream, and How High. I said that money, drugs, hoes was the only thing that some rappers/groups rap about, but not for the Wu. They touch on a wide variety of topics and I like how they do it more than any other group. Do they go around in all of their videos trying to show off all their cars while popping cristal and then pouring it down some skank's asscheeks? No. I don't have a problem if someone wants to rap about money, cars and hoes, but not when it's the only thing they do.

To you it is, to me it isn't. Some of it is cheesy, corny and a bit dated to me. Plenty of '80s rap is dated to me.

I don't think that is a fair explanation of why Warhol is "overrated." Say what you will about his political agendas, social affiliations, sexual orientation, or whatever else you want to criticize, but what he is known for (and therefore, what he is generally "rated" as) is an artist, and the fact remains that he is one of the most important and influential artists of the post-war period.

If you determine that he is overrated just because he was "useless and associated himself with pretty useless people as well," then that eliminates a lot of other phenomenal artists as well.

Denzel, while a very good actor, is a bit overrated. He's falling into the Pacino niche of basically playing the same character over and over.This is true IMO. He is one of my favorites though. He did do a different style of acting in 'Manchurian Candidate' than his normal stuff but they weren't extremely shocking performances. Don Cheadle is a better performer IMO and is underrated.

Now, Gary Oldman is a shocking performer and very underrated. :bowdown:

Also, I never hear any praise for Sean Penn's performance in 'The Assassination of Richard Nixon'. Unbelievable!
