Thread idea from Real gm

How many titles will the Trio of Kobe, Gasol and Bynum win?

Kobe will be 30 at the beginning of the season
Gasol will be 28 at the beginning of the season
Bynum will be 21 at the beginning of the season

Lakers will have problems winning 2-3 titles. Bynum already wants max money and he has barely done anything.

Can't really predict, since the West is so strong. The path to the final is gonna be brutal. I'd say at least one? Who knows....

guess Im banking on bynum a little bit. Watching him prior to the injury made me believe he is a very capable center and i think he would have been of help in playing the Celtics. 3 is wishful thinking, but I think they are young enough and have the talent that will allow them to be put in a good title run situation.

Will Bynum be worth much next season anyway?
From what I have heard, most of his improvement came from his conditioning and newfound ability to run a sub 9 minute mile... How much of that work is still alive after being injured so long?
They could get a few, but probably one in the next 5 years is most likely

It all depends on Bynum. We have only seen glimces of what he can be. But first he needs to prove it consistently over 82 games.
If he lives up to the hype, the trio could win 3.
If he turns out to be a very average player (non all-star), then they may not win anything.

Just want to remind all the idiots saying 1 if they're lucky...they just got to the finals without Bynum. Why anyone would still act like winning a title for the Lakers sounds impossible is beyond me. They're not the Celtics or the Spurs, they still have many opportunities to win.

Over the Hornets, Blazers, Rockets and Spurs?

:oldlol:

They'll probably win one in the next 5-6 years, but beyond that I wouldn't open my mouth.

The Hornets would have given them fits if they'd gotten past the Spurs, and the Blazers have a 70% win record at home against the Lakers (in the current arena) if they ever give up the home court in the post season.

I think they'll at least win 1 title together, when I don't know, but they will win at least 1, I'm hoping they don't win any but I don't think that can happen cuz they almost won last year with only Kobe and Gasol and now they're getting back Bynum and he's just an awesome player, so imagine Kobe, Bynum and Gasol all together, man, it'd be a crazy team.

Next season when Bynum comes back, he'll add a whole new element to the team especially teaming up with Pau down low.

Lakers beat all those teams you mentioned without Bynum or Ariza (who is our best perimeter defender).

Really, the only team you should've brought up are the Hornets and as of now, there's no reason to think they will be better then the Lakers anytime in the next few years. Why do you bring up the other teams? The Spurs are old, the Rockets are too injury-prone, and the Blazers haven't done s*** yet. The Blazers are all potential, you really think they have a better chance to be better then the Lakers for the next 3-4 years? They didn't even make the playoffs this year, and are banking on a center that was injured in his whole first season, while the Lakers just made it to the Finals without their young dominant center. To be fair, I know there's a good chance Andrew Bynum can have an injury-plagued career just like Greg Oden. I'm no Laker fan, but really, the hype people are making over the Blazers just because of potential is getting out of hand. At this moment, the Lakers have a better chance then any other team in the league to win 2 or 3 titles in the next few years. Seriously I bet if the Blazers make it as a 7th or 8th seed next year, people will be screaming "Blazers=2010 champs" next summer.

ZERO.

Anytime you lose by 40 points in a Finals game. You should automatically forfeit any chance you have at a title for the next 10 years.

Mark Jackson said it right, "Even if Hancock was on this team, I'd still pick the Celtics"

Bynum isn't going to bring rings to LA. You don't even know how Bynum and Gasol can coexist with one another.

How many years does Kobe have left? Maybe five more years, than it equals 5 rings.

Simple math. 5 = 5

Honestly, I don't see anybody stoping the alley opp that Bynum does, he makes it look so easy, it's hard to stop. He's too lengthy and at the same time they would have to deal with the rest of the crew, it's too overwhelming in my opionion for anybody.

After we got contracts for Boozer/Okur/AK to the 2010 playoffs, I have been saying that. I've had a "Jazz in 2010" poster I made up in my room :oldlol: . I didn't know about the player options there though. Perfect year for old greats to slow down (Duncan, Nash, Kidd, Garnet) to pass the torch.

I think they need to work on winning one to even consider on winning any others. What if brynum turns out to be a bust next year?? Then they have no shot at winning. Brynum needs to become the so called "god" he has been made out to be by all lakers fans. If he is not, the lakers will fail. So I say they have a chance at winning 1 for sure.
