Orlando has upgraded the 2/3 with Courtney Lee and now Mickael Pietrus.

Redick is now the 4th option at the 2 behind Bogans,Lee,& Pietrus.

Say it aint so JJ.:(

Its over. He wont even be trade fodder... skinny white kids who can shoot are a dime a dozen in the broad spectrum of NBA recruiting. Before he was an amazing college player, now hes not even the norm. Sad really... I gotta feel for the guy:cry:

He still has a chance to be a Steve Kerr type.

What did your boy "the machine" (how the hell does some two bit role player get a nickname anyways?) do his first two seasons in the league?........because "your boy" was out shot by Reddick his first two seasons in.

I'm not saying Riddick is all of a sudden going to turn into a starter, but being a Steve Kerr type player certainly isn't out of the question for him.........he still has some upside if he finds himself in the right system.

he could find a spot on somebody's team. he's still a helluva shooter.

yes it is. we'll miss him.

Maybe the Sixers can sign him for dirt cheap. We need a shooter and although he's a defensive liabilty, our starting four sure makes up for that. Andre is a good passer, something that Jameer was not as capable of doing. He'll ride the pine for sure, but it could be interesting.

Like I said in an earlier thread, I believe JJ can be an effective NBA shooter, the biggest problem is his deficiencies in other areas, and whether it can be justified playing him over another player who does other things.

The lack of JJ Redick in USA Basketball team will doom them.

The lack of JJ Redick's playing time is a proof of racism.

Agreed. Too early in his career to consider him done, specially without letting him play for a different team first.

If your team doesn't need much defense from the 2 spot he will be a very good option. That's the sole reason he hasn't played in Orlando. We need our SG to be a big defensive type because of Jameer

I never liked Redick or Morrison... They are pretty useless... They should go over seas and play to be honest.

No, every team has a need for outside shooting. He'll find a new squad. Hell, I'm sure Cleveland would love him.

jj who?

I don't understand why they refuse to trade him, when they have no interest in playing him. He's never going to be a star, but he could be a very effective scorer off the bench on a strong defensive team. He's the kind of player that will be in the league for 20 years...as his game is not predicated of athleticism...since he doesn't any.

:hammerhead: This is his job... he gets PAID to put the little ball through the orange hoop... and he cant even do it.

Granted, the fingeroll is *veerrryy* tricky to master. Still, I saw a HS frosh airball a layup even uglier then that.

That's what I was thinking. Philly's kindof weak at the 2 and 3 with only Iggy, Young, and Green.

He has skills to be a 10 ppg 6th man. Why is everyone so adamant about his skills?

Great stuff. This thread wasn't at all surprising at the time. Seeing it now though I figured that he must have gotten severely injured.

Props to JJ for willing himself to being a legit NBA starter.

It shouldn't have happened. But he had the mental toughness and he wanted it.

I fully admit I thought he'd be out of the league by now. Juan Dixon sort of career. I was wrong.
