It's obvious that Kobe is clearly two inches taller than both Wade and Kidd on that Team USA pic. So either Kidd and Wade are in reality 6'2, or their shoes have much thinner soles than Kobe's, or that pic is photoshopped.

The pictures Lebron23 posted of Kobe and Wade are much better. It's Wade and Kobe side by side with good posture and they look to be almost indenticle heights. However there can be many little things to throw that off when judging for example what time the people got up(you shrink during the day, your true height is when you wake up out of bed and you continue to shrink very slowly all day, you can lose about 0.5-0.75 inches in a day, the soles of the shoes as you mentioned and very subtle posture things. Even though he looks 6-4 flat in the good angle pictures with Wade in general he looks closer to 6-5 and someitmes taller so i'd say the 6-4 3/4 measurement sounds correct.


Kobe homers just want people to think that Kobe is shorter so that it looks more impressive what he's doing on the court. It goes both ways, sometimes fans of a player want people to think that he's taller than he really is to make him look more impressive. Like with Tracy McGrady, I've seen some of his fans claim that he really is 6'10, so that it looks more impressive that a big man like that can play the SG position.

I've seen that too. It's possible T-Mac grew to around 6'7" w/o shoes and 6'8"-6'9" w/ shoes but even with shoes 6'10" is absurd. That would put him around the same height as Dwight Howard and Amare Stoudemire.

One well known example is Kevin Garnett who was 6'11" w/o shoes when he was drafted and admitted to growing to 6'11 3/4" several times yet he's listed 6'11"? KG thinks he'll have to play center or be expected to play like a center if he's listed 7 feet.

Bill Walton is another. Everyone who played against him swears he's a 7 foot, Walton was always slightly taller than Robert Parish as well but because Walton thought 7 feet was a freakish height he refused to be listed that height.

Once again, the team USA picture is MADE to show the height difference between the players, you can see their bodies from top to bottom. Funny, I never heard that. I always heard that Lamar is in fact taller than his official height of 6'10. I heard that he's 6'11.

If he's 6-9 1/4 without shoes like I've heard then that puts him about 6-10 1/2 or 6-10 3/4 with shoes so if you are going by in shoes heights then yes he could be considered 6-11.


When it's all said and done, any picture you can find that indicates that Kobe is shorter than his official height of 6'6, I can find another that indicates that the official listing of 6'6 is accurate, or even some that make him look taller than 6'6. But in the end, his official height IS 6'6 and there are like 10 other players on the Team USA pic whose official height fits with how tall they look next to each other on the picture, and Kobe looks like 6'6 compared to the other players on the picture.

Go ahead, find as many good angle pictures as I have that show him to be that height.

I said he's probably 6-4 3/4 without shoes. Most shoes give 1 1/4 inches so that would put him exactly 6-6 in shoes. So they probably just list him at his in shoes height like a lot of other players.

As for editing the Dwight Howard/Chris Bosh picture. You moved Howard up, of course he'll look taller. Standing next to eachother Bosh looks his claimed 6-11 while Howard looks his claimed 6-9 1/2 w/o shoes.
