Who do you think is the better overall player?
I would say CP3.

Why are you comparing a a 6ft PG to a 6'9 SF?

23airjordan23
07-10-2008, 09:45 PM
I would say lebron.

Because he has a strength advantage, he scores more points and he lead a talentless Cleveland cavaliers to the finals, when chris paul has a better supporting cast and the good thing that chris paul does is he makes his team better, but lebron can score 30 and also rack up 10 assists when he has a much worse of a team.

I say CP3 simply because he can honestly score anytime he wants but he chooses to set up his teammates like a Magic Johnson, CP3 is also a better defender, although the steals don't tell the entire story but he gets pretty much legit steals unlike reading passing lanes like Iverson, Also CP3 Is much more deadly on offense with his jumper and his attacking ability.

LeBron had one of the best statsline in the history of the NBA since 1988 Michael Jordan, and Oscar Robertson back in the 1960's.

He is improving his jumper every year, and he is also a very underrated defender in the NBA.

He already led his team in the NBA Finals after defeating the Detroit Pistons in the Eastern Conference Finals, and i think he is only one of 2 NBA players that are capable of surpassing/breaking Kareem Abdul Jabbar's NBA All time Scoring Record.

Some LeBron James Facts

- According to the Elias Sports Bureau, since the league began tracking steals and blocks in the 1973-74 season, no player has averaged at least 30 points, 7.9 boards, 7 assists, 1.8 steals and 1.0 blocks per game in a season with a minimum of 70 games played.

-Even if you take away the steals requirement, no other in that span equaled James' numbers this year. His ability to score, see the floor and block shots makes him one of the NBA's all-time rare talents.

Take away the blocked shots, and the list remains exceedingly short: James and Michael Jordan, who averaged 32.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, 8.0 assists and 2.9 steals in the 1988-89 season (he fell short only in blocked shots, at 0.8 per game).

LeBron among the greats

Only three players in NBA history have averaged at least 30 points, seven rebounds and seven assists per game in a season with a minimum of 70 games played: Michael Jordan (once), Oscar Robertson (five times) and LeBron James this season.

http://www.usatoday.com/sports/basketball/nba/2008-04-07-scorers-table_N.htm

I think LeBron has the chance to become the 2nd NBA player to average a Triple Double in the regular season.

Lebron's whole game is that he's an all-around player. Lebron excells in multiple areas while not severely lacking in any areas, and the same cannot be said about Chris Paul. Lebron is the better overall player.

The answer is Lebron James because he's bigger. I wish basketball were more complicated than that, but sometimes it isn't. Not with all other things being basically equal. One guy's 6'0, the other guy's 6'9.

No one in the league can get to the basket, absorb contact, and finish the way that LeBron does. AI is good at getting to the cup, but any contact throws him off-balance and rarely does it result in an and-1. Wade is better than AI in this aspect, but he doesn't finish NEARLY as well as LeBron.

LBJ has led the league in And-1s for many consecutive years. His size, strength, agility, body control, and leaping ability are unmatched.

Disagree again. Wade in my opinion is the best finisher in the league after drawing contact. Sure Lebron is stronger, but you need to grab both of Wades hands to stop him. He is very adapt to making those circuis shots.

LeBron can: bring the ball up, pass, score, rebound, defend, and block shots

CP3 can: bring the ball up, pass, score, steal,

Not taking anything away from CP3 but LBJ is the better player IMO.

its true he will go to greece and they play very little games so he will have some special greek god training when he comes back to the nba he will have a ray allen jumper a tim duncan post 56 inch vertical and 270 lbs as fast as prime iverson or faster and the durability of karl malone because he will literally be the nba's iron man. People will try and take a charge from him but they will end up being on the bench.

Well Lebron may not lead a team with Chandler, West and Peja to West Conference Final. CP3 fits in the Hornets' system and Byron Scott is for sure a PG's coach(who used to lead the Nets and Jason Kidd to NBA finals twice). I wonder if Byron Scott knows how to use Lebron James at all and the Hornets are surely better with CP3 than with LBJ.

Btw, CP3 will be considered the best player in this league after next season(better than both LBJ and Kobe for sure) and I can see him averaging something like 22ppg, 13apg on 47-50% FG shooting.

The thing about LeBron he already surpassed the hype, and he already put Cleveland back on the map, when he led his crappy team in the NBA Finals.

According to CBS Sports.com he's the 2nd best player in the NBA, but i can see him surpassing Kobe if he will work in his outside shooting.

King James actually improved his man to man defense last season, and I think he still needs to work on improving his overall game.

1. He needs to shoot at least 86 percent from the Foul Line.
2. Develop a Fade away Jumper because he will not be an explosive player when he's past his prime.
3. Must have the dedication and passion to win an NBA title.

I don't think Lebron will ever shoot 85% or more from the free throw line. I see his best season at 77ish. Though his outside jumper will get better, it already looked a lot better in the Olympics.
