Personally, I hate it. I have shadow no matter what. I am also nearing the point where I have to shave twice a day. I'm curious as to how you guys feel about it.

Oh, and I am nearing the point where I have to shave once a week... I hate it.

I grow a beard sometimes, but my facial hair is to patchy to make it look good, so I shave it after a week or so.

You don't get as close of a shave and I certainly would have to shave a second time. If I'm not going anywhere, I just don't shave. My dad uses electric, but like I said, it's not as close of a shave and if your growth is fast, it looks like you need a shave in like 3 hours.

Well, if you have to shave with a blade, and you need to again later in the day, does it really make a difference? Or do you not like having any facial hair?

It takes 3 weeks (since last I checked) to get my goatee going good, but when I went into my job interview I didnt want that look so I shaved... big mistake.
Now I cant grow it back out because it will look like shyt for 2-3 weeks until it fills back in. So until I can find an excuse to take three weeks off, im stuck shaving with a dull electric razor that is so bad I have to make a second pass with an even worse disposable one.

I don't like facial hair. I tried chin straps once. It took only 5 days for it to be noticable. To get it to match with my haircut, it probably would have taken another 2 weeks tops. But, I hate having facial hair. Chicks hate it.

what kind of razer and cream do you guys use?
Right now I use a mach 3 turbo with the battery. I found a really good deal on it with 8 blades so I snagged it.
Cream wise I've tride mach 3 senstive skin gel. and it sucked.
Right now I'm using niva (sp) for men senstive skin, and it's not that great either

I also use Mach 3, but I shave in the shower. Those disposable blades suck ass. The initial shave is fine, but you can't use it after the first shave. It doesn't last.

feel fresh as a daisy, no razor burn, no bumps, no irritation, no cuts, no wounds, good enough feeling for an entire day. I shave every other day now.

I have thick, dark hair and I have sensitive skin. I don't end up with nicks or cuts, but the skin is just too damn sensitive.

Tell me the regimen dude. Shaving has one best way. I thought I had sensitive skin as well, apparently I didn't.

I shave like once a week. I let it get pretty scruffy before I shave. It grows in real well around the goatee area, but a full length beard is something I can't really pull off that well. The rest of my facial hair is too light. With some effort, I can semi pull off a chinstrap beard. Sideburns go to the bottom of my ears.
I use whatever cheap razors I can find. Could really care less. I don't have the money to be out there buying those mach 3 blades.

Never heard of people doing that (leaving everything but the sideburns).
Personally, I always think it looks a bit weird when a guy has no sideburns whatsoever, but to each is own, I guess. Some people I'm sure just can't grow them well.

Yeah, My sideburns grow Ricky Davis style when I let it. My hair doesn't grow on every part of my face.
It grows like this:

Which I think looks kind of messy and i'm not good at lining it up myself so I just take em off altogether.

I like the clean shave look but I hate to do the work to get there.
I use electric because I get severe bumps and burns around my goatee area. There are times I go a several weeks with out a proper shave and then I have to use a trimmer to reduce the hair length and then finish off with the electric shaver

Every day of the week, i need to shave. I'm at a job where i need to look clean. I have a chinstrap (permitted) but I need to shave around it every morning to make it look fresh. I'm Middle Eastern too, so I have curly facial hair that becomes painful to shave if I leave it for more than 2 days. I use Old Spice shaving cream, and a Gillette Mach 3 Turbo razor for most of my face, and use a disposable to clean the chinstrap up. Usually takes 10 minutes a day, which blows.

Usually let mine grow out 3-4 days, start looking really scruffy, shave it, then let it grow out 3-4 days again. Not like I need to look great working at Walmart. Always got that Linas Kleiza growth.

The scruffy look is fine, but in my case, I get that look in about 36 hours. By 3-4 days, I look like I'm about to grow a beard.

Have you ever grown a beard?
I think it's something that every man needs to try once in his life. It's very liberating and counter culture.

Hoping to get some decent scruff by christmas...need to start looking my age. It's going well on the chin and mustache and below the lower lip but that's about it. Just getting blonde hairs everywhere else that are less visible.

Not a full beard, no. The longest I went was about a week. My hair is usually at a 1, so the facial hair almost matched my head hair in that time. My only problem is my sideburns and goatee aren't fully developed yet, though they have been making progress in the past few months.

I grew the chinstrap once and the DWill beard once too. Liked it but it was a pain in the ass to keep it lookin nice. After I left the barber shop it'd look nice for about 3 days and then I'd say ahh **** it and shave it off. Then want it back...

I'm Greek so my facial hair just explodez from my upper lip and chin within a couple of hourz.
I've nicked myself a couple of timez, and I hate the routine overall; but it'z necessary cuz I resemble a caveman with mascara if I don't.
Anyone undergo the traditional barber way to do it? You know with soap and the straight blade? I saw a pic with Kwajo doing it on a sailboat and I was wondering if someone can provide me more info on dat.
That said, I keep a bit of peach fuzz on my beard, and a full-goatee in the summer. I also shave my legs and pits for maximum athletic performance.

I use a trimmer every 3-4 days. I hate the clean shave look so when I use the trimmer it grows back pretty quickly. If I shave with a razor it usually takes 5-6 days before I got to shave again, but the trimmer is quicker, easier, and less irritating for me.

It's one of those tedious chores that has to be done in the morning. I hate it sometimes. I use a good electric shaver now and got rid of the razors. It's a little faster now.

I have to shave every 3 days. And to be honest, I really do not like shaving my facial hair..it grows back every 3 days. If I don't shave my facial hair for a while, then my facial hair grows insane.

I have a beard, and I tend to keep it at a 2, unless I get my haircut, in which case tell my barber to take it down to a 1.
I keep it clean, but I hardly ever shave it off, not necessarily because I like it (or even that my g/f loves it), but just because when I do shave, bumps come like it's a block party, and it itches when it grows back in, even though I don't really have a choice because of the bumps.

True..also go WITH the grain of the hair ..especially on the neck(where it's extra sensitive)

it's an annoying thing to do. because my skin is sensitive, i've actually done the double shave before (firstly use electric, and then razor). that way, you get the rough cut shave down, and then complete it with the razor. the process takes about 10 minutes, though, so it's not an everyday thing. still, it's better than going straight to the razor, which generally tears my face up.
i do enjoy that shave after several days growth. feels so goddamn smooth in comparison to the everyday shave.

I'm really lazy when it comes to shaving. I should be shaving every 2 weeks especially my chin. That's why I've always used cheap disposable shavers.
I'm gonna buy one of those Gillete ProGlide shavers.
Its worth it.
