Because his name is
21 assists! good god
He's a smaller Ben Simmons thats capable of scoring more than 1.
the real reason Cs won in 08
@Dmavs41
Can't believe Kobe locked that guy up when he was in his prime on D as an old athletically limited shooting guard while simultaneously leading his team on offense in the finals
Man
Really puts things into perspective :applause: :bowdown:
Being a small guard in his early thirties, Rondo knows that he has to be mellow and protect himself during the regular season....unless it is a nationally televised game of course.
Rondo knows that reputations and money are made in the playoffs. That's when he turns the dial up to 11. He will even play defense!
Brilliant player. I have always been a fan.
Game is suited to the slower paced, more physical contact playoffs!
He is also the master at finding his teammates good looks.
He is really good at the playoff style. Being, excessive passing will lead to turnovers. So, you just give him the ball, and he'll get a high percentage look for you
This also plays into situational moments, which is so important in the playoffs. When you only need a 2pter, he'll be able to find you an open long two, which is of more value than a 3 depending on the context (scores tied, 1 minute left)
TLDR; He's an old school floor general who can slow it down, minimize/mitigate your team's turnovers and just create quality shots each and every possession. The free-flowing regular season team ball "systems" always regress in this regard. Turnovers KILL you in the playoffs. ISO Ball, oldschool floor generals like Rondo... These minimize turnovers, and maximize every possession.

Its funny because your
Dont care what anyone says, I'd want Rondo on my team. He's a great teammate and a very good player when it counts. Plus he's not taking any shit from draymond green, which is refreshing to see.
Rondo has always been a smart player. And if you go back and, view his stats, he is always among the leaders in assists per game.
Just like any serious competition in any sport... The dog in the athlete helps a lot. And playoff Rondo has a wild rabid dog in him..
