Timmy will what ever happens still be counted as the best PF ever. Pop if he makes it this time he is arguably the GOAT coach then.

It doesnt affect it.
Duncan is arguably the best PF of all time. Top 10 player of all time. Winning another title doesnt boost him any further than he is. He's not playing every game for 35mpg+ either this season.

It will firmly place Parker over Lin.
better than kobe
Spurs aint winning shit.
they won't, so...
The same thing is said of the Spurs...EVERY YEAR. And EVERY YEAR, they disappoint. Spurs still have some pieces to contend, but they're not going anywhere, IMO.
Before we figure out what it'd do for his legacy, we'd need to see how central he would be to the win. Was it mainly Timmy? Or mainly Tony, Manu (he'll be back by then, right?), et al.?
If the Spurs win it all, I start looking at guys like Wilt and Bird sitting at #5 all-time and start wondering if Timmy shouldn't be there.
If the Spurs win a 5th NBA title, I think the only one who really gets a boost will be Pop. Duncan will go down as one of the greatest PFs in the game. Parker and Ginobili will be talked about. But Pop will have to be considered one of the greatest coaches of all-time. Phil, Red, Pat, and Pop. Nice list.

And I'll start to :facepalm at people like you.

Amen. And I would second that and raise a :coleman:

Yes, it would be ridiculous for a guy that has 5 rings to be considered being as good as players with 2 or 3.
I don't rank Kobe as high as Wilt or Bird, but he's in the conversation.
I would just laugh at the usual doubters, I wouldn't be surprised if they win. Duncan will still be the GOAT PF either way. And Pop will still be one of the GOAT coaches.
