Sounds like an illegal signing. The kid didn't enter the draft and doesn't meet age requirements anyway. If the Jazz can get away with this, the Blazers should use it as leverage for signing high school prospects.

Totally agree. This opens a pandora's box. "Oh wait, we can't sign that 16 year old to a 6 year contract? The Jazz signed a FIVE YEAR OLD!" Man, Adam Silver f-cking blew it this time. Not to mention all the child labor laws in place....this is a mess.....
