Peoplecomplkain about travels but double dribble NEVER gets called

in the NBA, particularly were a player will control and errant pass by tapping it to the ground corralling it with both hands and then continuing to dribble. That is a dribble, of course I don't expect refs to be super technical about it but NBA players abuse the hell out of the leeway they are given on this play.

Can't count how many times a guy will literally catch the ball with two hands, fumble it, it hits the ground, pick it back up with two hands , then proceed to dribble.

This is virtually NEVER called.
