A guy running into a bar full of people won't be able to kill 50 with a knife/sword/machete. Quite possibly he'll be stopped before that.

So you are arguing the volume of killing, but not the danger it poses? You are totally ruling out the mental health of these individuals or the political/racial/religious motivation as the cause. Why do you think the judicial system looks at motive when convicting perpetrators for their crimes?
Depending on the proficiency of the user of a knife, I'd argue a well trained marine or any special forces operative could murder quite a few people before he got taken down.

I'm not ruling out anything. But using the beheading by a criminal organization to promote or excuse gun laws is a logical fallacy. When was the last guy beheaded on bright daylight by a sword wielder in the US?
If you capture someone and render him defenseless you can kill him with a spoon. Of course the organization behind it, wether it's some islamic bullshit or some drug syndicate is the reason for the killing, but guns make killing alot easier.
Of course a marine can do more harm with a knife than a random guy, but a marine can even do more harm with a gun. Chances are higher you can take the knife away than a gun. Especially if it's 100 vs 1..

Shouldn't the core issue when considering the outlaw of guns be based on taking responsiblity for our own actions?

They have been, and at every corner of politics, muslims have challenged their host country in the West and in europe.
More halal, more mosques, more prayer times, etc etc, the list goes on.
Where has the willingness been to actually fit in with the culture? All I see in Europe are enclaves of unassimilated people. You might as well divide up the land and declare it the middle east.
Again, it is the right of the host country to dictate what nationalist beliefs it identifies with and if that means banning Islam for the better good of the people then so be it.

I've visited London and Paris before and after the growing enclaves. East London is a joke, you might as well write that place off as the middle East.
I didn't get to stay in these places for long, however during my holidays I was quite shocked at the changes occurring in these places, particularly Marseille and Lyon.
Stayed in the Strand Palace Hotel and Best Western De Neuville.

Halal certification helps fund terrorist linked organisations throughout the world.
Mosques groom and promote extremists. They also act as religious foothold and defiance in A Western/European culture founded on Angle Saxon values.
Prayers in the street are public displays of defiance to nationalistic culture. I don't think it's appropriate or acceptable to be blocking up the streets with religious affairs like that.

Decades? Really?!?!
How stupid are you not to realise that things take time to change, and that Europe is already changing to suit its new migrant community? The reintroduction of blasphemy laws is just one of many changes and reversions to past norms caused by mass muslim migration. If you think further changes and concessions won't happen, then you're completely delusional. Either the country must adapt to suit the wishes of a growing minority, or the minority must adapt to the culture of the West, which very often means hollowing out their own religious beliefs. The former spawns a backlash amongst the natives, and the latter inevitably incenses many muslims (and the wars in "muslim lands" don't help). How to you think it makes a migrant feel to live (or worse, grow up) in a culture with moral norms completely at odds with his own? Alienated, that's what. Lost, rootless, and ripe for extremist recruitment. Look how many of these people are sunk in despair with drugs and criminality due to the lack of moral system provided in western nations--this pushes them to the brink, and then they revert to a more extreme version of their own culture/heritage.
And Islamic extremism is very much a consequence of the clash between two incompatible cultures that impinge upon one another--because of globalisation, mass-entertainment is beamed into muslim households around the world, disturbing their way of life, and encouraging their young people to rebel against their established norms, which is why there is such a strong backlash in the muslim world, which is overwhelmingly [I]anti-secular[/I].
The modern secular world is violently anti-religion, and Islam is violently opposed to the sexual licentiousness and permissiveness of the secular world; the former has no conception of the sacred (well, apart from immigration, which seems to be like a sacred object itself, in that no rational and fact-based discussion regarding it is allowed without excommunication), and the latter is heavily devoted to the concept of the sacred.
If you don't think the overt irreverence of the West clashes with the devotion of muslims, then you are again deluded; as you can well see, even the supposedly moderate muslims on here will express some kind of sympathy for the Charlie Hebdo murders, because they shat all over the sacred, which is inexcusable for them. Many have observed what the secular world has done to the Christian religion in the West (eradicated it by appealing to desire of the young to indulge themselves) and they don't like what they see (an order with no real or substantial moral basis).
