I respect the hell out of both those guys, but c'mon. You can't really be in the coversation for top 15 without at least one MVP or FMVP.

I know it's mostly trolling, but I don't understand the hate for Kobe lately. There aren't 10 players with a better overall resume than Kobe. 5 titles, 2 FMVP's, MVP, 18x all-star, 15x all-NBA, 12x all-defense (some undeserved, but still), and 2x scoring champion. That's pretty insane.

I have Kobe and Hakeem in a virtual deadlock for 10th. Hakeem had a better peak and more impressive championship runs. Kobe has a better resume and better longevity.

I think he's around 15 if it's purely basketball abilities. He's around 12-13 if you want to bump him up due to longevity or the narrative that surrounds him. "Mamba" and all.

Either way, he's dropping significantly as people begin to grasp how inefficient and relatively ineffective he was as a basketball player, as a further emphasis on stats takes place.

I agree with your first sentence. Hakeem is clearly the better player.
But GOAT list include things like accolades, longevity, rings, etc. and in that case Kobe has the better resume imo.

And most lists have Kobe higher than 10, so I'm not sure what you mean by the end of your post.
