Holland vs. Hardy time
They can create their own Spider verse if Sony wishes it
a lot of possibilities: Maximum Carnage, Sinister Six etc
What else is left for him to do in the MCU though? The Avengers storyline is dead and he doesn't fit in any upcoming movies.

besides, making Spidey as some sort of successor to Iron Man is uncharacteristic
he didn't need those Stark gadgets just to become Spiderman

This
I mean how much more can you squeeze out of this redundant plotline? Save the city, save the country, save the world. I think they kinda peaked at save the universe with the last two. Not only that but they pretty much involved everyone, even scrubs like Antman :lol
Time to move on to new IP's
MCU Spiderman is atrocious anyway. He isn't even Spiderman, but Iron man Jr. It's cringe worthy how much they fukked over Spiderman. I didn't particularly like the reboot, but the action scenes were great as far as how Spiderman would actually be.

This. Mcu spidey is a whiney little soyboy..
They are churning out billion-dollar movies at will and people are asking how they can use their most popular character to make more money?
Anyway...there is too much money to be made for them not to work this out. This is most likely both sides playing hardball negotiations. The last Spiderman was the most profitable movie in Sony's history. They aren't going to walk away from this money. Thei just don't want to hand Marvel more of the profits. Solomon didn't have to cut the baby in half.

From a rational perspective I agree, but literally all it takes is one stupid executive with a massive ego/massive level of overconfidence for it to all fall apart.
The lady who brought Spidey to the MCU has been gone for a while because she got fired during the email hack iirc.
On top of that, didn't Venom do like 800 million at the box office? I didn't even bother seeing that piece of shit and I'm sure there are a ton of people like me and it still did 800 million...
It's likely that Spider-Man movies will continue to do close to a billion each going forward regardless of Marvel's involvement... at least in the short term... maybe long term that drops back down to the 2/3/4 hundreds of millions mark as people figure out that it's not tied in any longer, but who knows.
I honestly prefer the more concise superhero stories, where they can build a plot because they're not obligated to jam everyone in somewhere so the whole thing feels like a patchwork. But I'm not a huge superhero movie guy anyway. I really liked this recent Spiderman though.

Secret Wars.
And it'll be great to see a Norman Osborn go against the Avengers.
Spidy in general could be a moral compass for the Avengers, and could be a major role in the new Avengers. While he could be a leader, he is more of a loner. He's also a bit too young to be the guy.
While I don't like how the MCU is making him into be little Ironman, I don't really trust Sony to make a good live action spiderman movie like Marvel. But it could be a smart move by Disney part by making him so connected with Ironman, so if Sony takes Spidy out, the fans will be pissed. He is already on point to carry the torch.
I am wondering how they are going to do write Spidy off? Peter doesn't seem like the type to just give it up. Are they going to kill him or just make Tom Holland into a different made up superhero with the same powers of Spiderman? lol. Or are they going to make him Ironheart? A mixture of the two? Or maybe disney and sony will eventually make a deal?

There have been thousands of comic books that featured Spiderman. With 0 creativty of any kind there are already several hundred stories to mine for source material.
I think something gets worked out. Everyone is mad at Sony on Twitter for the most part, but people should be upset with Disney/Marvel going to Sony and basically saying, "It was 5%, now we want 50%..." Undoubtedly anyone would say no to that. Sony is getting raped.
Hopefully they can meet up again and maybe do a counter offer or something. It'd be a failure to finally introduce arguably the most popular Marvel character ever in the MCU only to yank him away 4 years later.
