Perhaps the last Nazi guard charged with war crimes

Perhaps...Last year a 101 year old was convicted and sentenced to 5 years in prison. He died this year a free man out on appeal though

But this guy might be the last. Extremely curious why it took so long to prosecute these guys. I can't find anywhere that says why. It's obviously symbolic though as he was only 17 at the time he was there apparently and this one probably won't even go to trial

There have been 140,000 Nazi war criminal cases investigated and 6,656 convictions to date.
