A judge and Sheriff have lunch together. Then meet in the judge's chambers right after. Judge sits down behind his desk, they both hand each other their phones and examine something on them. Sheriff then pulls out his gun and kills the judge. Straight up Hollywood sh*t

The only thing so far as any type of possible motive being given to the public so far, since they were both friends, is one of the Sheriff's deputies having sex in the judge's chambers 2 years ago. The sheriff initially defended the deputy but when irrefutable proof came out of the deed, he immediately fired his deputy.
