This had less than zero to do with anything.
Thompson was agitated because they got beat and that's it. Maybe there was prior shit talk, who knows. But for you to think an emotional reaction was a calculated move is pretty funny. Especially when the Rockets are down 5, without the ball, and 35 seconds total left on the gameclock.

Ime Udoka is a great coach. From afar it looks like he felt the team needed to play with more of an edge which is part of why you bring in a guy like Dillon Brooks. Unfortunately sometimes when you play with that edge you can cross the line and emotions lead to foolish decisions like what Thompson did here.
I'm interested in the game's Thompson will get suspended because I was on the side of that he'll get less than Naji Marshall got (4 games) because he didn't close fist swing and hit someone. People label it a "bodyslam" but to me it's more like threw him to the floor. Many people think he'll get more than 4 games though
