Nothing will top 2016. To put up those numbers in the internet/streaming era is insane.
Re: NBA Finals Game 7 viewership since 2010
You really couldn't have come up with a more compelling/historically significant game than that :lol I don't think we'll ever see another Game 7 of the Finals with so many narratives and that much at stake ever again.

Assuming you're referring to 2016, the entire landscape of the league changes if the Warriors win in 2016. I doubt they're going out to chase Durant, so although his departure from OKC was inevitable the question is where would he have gone? The Knicks? Wizards? Celtics? Spurs? Think I recall all those teams being options( unless I'm thinking of 2019, KD has become a superstar journeyman so it's hard to keep up with who his suitors have been the last 8 years).
Re: NBA Finals Game 7 viewership since 2010
These numbers need an era adjustment! Even still, 2016 did big ones in a tough era with declining TV viewership. I assume 2025 is consolidated.
Re: NBA Finals Game 7 viewership since 2010
The NBA desperately needs some domestic stars. Fingers crossed Flagg is the next Bird and Harper, Dybantsa, Peterson, and Boozer all become HOFers. Next year's draft could be legendary.

KD says he doesn't go to the Warriors if they had won, which who knows, it could be true, but I doubt it :lol
The flipside though is interesting, if the Warriors would want to rock the boat with a massive change like that to a team that, if they had won, would've won 140 games and b2b titles with their current core. I think if they're able to add KD like they did without breaking up their Big 3 and keeping Iggy they would've still gone through with it.
Re: NBA Finals Game 7 viewership since 2010
I wouldn't be 100% sure the Warriors don't add KD even if they win in 2016. Less likely for sure but far from impossible.
Re: NBA Finals Game 7 viewership since 2010
Either way it robbed us of seeing OKC, GS and the Cavs battle for the title over a few seasons, would have been far better than what we ended up with where the competitive balance of the league is thrown out of wack. I personally like the alternate reality where OKC runs it back for the 2017 season with peak KD/Westbrook and get another crack at the Warriors.

2005 Pistons vs Spurs (Game 7)

That's pretty weak for that era. :lol
Re: NBA Finals Game 7 viewership since 2010
Can you imagine KD still joining the Warriors if they won? He caught more than enough shit for joining them under the circumstances it occurred.:oldlol:

It does look worse, don't get me wrong, but he's still joining a 73 win team with the b2b MVP and two All-NBA players that won a championship and made b2b Finals, oh and who came back from 3-1 on KD who choked badly in Game 6 :lol
The final minute of Game 7 going the other way obviously matters historically and legacy wise, but it really shouldn't change the perception of his move that much.
Re: NBA Finals Game 7 viewership since 2010
LOL at all the Bronie fluffers trying to find reasons to rag on OKC.
How about this OP: did you know this was the most watched finals game in the last 6 years?

Re: NBA Finals Game 7 viewership since 2010
KD would not have gone to GS if they had won, I'm pretty confident in that.
Re: NBA Finals Game 7 viewership since 2010
Yea there‘s 0 chance KD joins GS if they win.
The fact 2016 bested 2010 Lakers Celtics w/ Kobe is crazy considering so much happened in those 6 years TV/streaming/social media wise.
